If you are having a problem logging into Studio One, please take a look at this article

I never had a fender account either and the whole botched migration cost me over $800.
Are you able to login and use SO1 now, or are you locked out as well?

Regards

I am pretty sure that it is not allowed to silently transfer a user account from "Company A" to "Company B" without any preliminary information. At least not in Germany.

Not disagreeing with you - but I can confirm that I never had a Fender.com account (that I know of) prior to about 10 days ago.

I searched high and low for any shred of evidence over the last 5 years that had anything to do with Fender. I did find a single reference to an old Fender Play account I had in 2019 - but it uses completely different credentials (including a massively different email) and that account still works fine with those credentials.

But an account @ Fender.com? Not me babe.

Did you test your Presonus credentials at Fender.com?

Yep ... I was able to log in, too. And I definitely never had any kind of Fender-related user account before! I am not amused!

There ya go. Kinda thought it wasn't just me.

I'm not even going to look for any Fender A/C. but I bet I've got one, whether I like it or not!
Hope we're all not being signed up for a good dose of spam.

Regards

I retract the above, I have looked and yes I too have a Fender A/C

Again, regards to all

May I just quote a statement from Presonus Website: "If you have a Presonus account and not a Fender account with matching email a fender account will be created."

I know about that since Lukas posted the above URL at the very beginning of this thread. So I'm not surprised that people now suddenly have Fender accounts they aren't aware of.

I'm not sure what exactly happened but I attempted to log in from a computer that I had never installed S1 on and it worked. Told a friend to try it and he attempted from an organizational computer and it did not work. I wanted to see if it solved the issue before I came here and told everyone, but alas it did not. I appreciate you checking up on me. I know I seemed like I was on the ledge the other day on this forum.

Yeah ... but this is not a required, preliminary information about an upcoming account migration.

Sure it isn't. But it informs people that they'll gonna have brand new Fender accounts right after logging into their Presonus accounts. So there is no need to be surprised about ;)

However, I also doubt that this is legal in Germany or the EU.

Have to agree.

There is account "migration" (and/or "synchronization") and then there is account "creation" (without any specific consent presented to the user either). These are vastly different things.

Just because Fender thinks this is a good idea - they still need to ask me first if I even want an account.

That said - if I was just the slightest bit speculative about about some (yet to be announced) "future" for our little company (and beloved DAW) - if we are getting Fender accounts foisted upon us with no ask whatsoever - I believe I am now moving from slight speculation into full blown worry mode now as it appears there are bigger changes afoot than I realized.

Just checked my presonus A/C and the pic below is what I am getting....now.

I reckon this probably violates privacy legislation in several territories, not just the EU, and it pretty obviously hasn't been thought through - including running it past a functioning legal department!

As we were discussing the other day, it does feel like Fender are laying the ground for some major revisions to PreSonus and the joint software ecosystem. I wouldn't be at all surprised to find that the PeSonus identity is to be subsumed into Fender; it's a well-trodden corporate path in many fields. Whether that means any significant changes beyond identity is a different matter, but I could see that the process of changing identity would mean that other development might have to take a back seat for a while.

"Fender Studio" and "Fender Studio Pro" ... sounds like a plan.

The fact that this action, whatever it is, was not preannounced and planned was bad enough…but to cause this level of disruption and lost of use of products we paid for and not send everyone an explanation of what is going on, what is being done to rectify the problems they caused and an estimate of when there would be resolution to the problems is very bad…and gives my partner and I reason to think that going forward dealing with Fender is going to be a huge PITA! Perhaps time to start thinking about remaining a customer.

Welcome to your new Fender account...

I don't know if I want to log in there. Will I have the same problem logging into Studio One as you're having if I do? I'm in the middle of a project and I don't want it jeopardized.

Thanks for the info. ;)

FWIW, my woes have ended. But I can only speak from my perspective that 3 things were useful/crucial.
1. I worked thru this via the support offered via Presonus email
2. I needed to create a Fender account
3. I needed to re-activate S1 using my Fender credentials

I agree with Dave Porter, this was/is a public relations mess that was handled very unprofessionally. Official notifications, including mass emails should have been sent to all license holders containg actionable info weeks ago. And I say this as a "Fender guy" who loves his Fender Jazz Bass and Bronco practice amp.

I do hope that appropriate lessons have been learned; the future is indeed a very large timespan.

I'm really surprised we haven't had a mailshot or news item about it. It's one thing to fluff an account merge.. It's quite another when your customers can't use the stuff they paid for. Very poor. (And I'm sure they will monitor this forum)

Something just occurred to me and I hope I'm wrong but here goes. I hate to say a dreaded word here but if it offends anybody so be it. It's beginning to feel like what happened over at Cakewalk a few years ago. Things changing left and right and with no answers from anybody until the day they dropped a bomb saying the DAW was no longer free (as it had been for 6 years) and after another year of everybody who used it waiting for price info they announced perpetual licenses were no longer available and the subscription model was there to stay.

Could it be that something similar is about to happen here? Yes, I know nobody here is getting a freebie but I'm just saying that it feels to me that something unpleasant is about to be dropped on us. One gentleman above said something like he had to pay $800.00 for something. That's not gonna be me. I'll say to hell with this whole home recording thing. I just went through it a year ago and I'm not doing it again. I'm just beginning to enjoy Studio One. I just turned 70 years old in July. My wife just suffered a mild stroke so I'm not in the mood to play games anymore. If I got to quit and walk way from it I'll do just that. It's almost time anyway.

Don't you also find it strange that Gregor and Joe have been silent on this issue? Like everybody's been saying: WE deserve answers.

I'm going read all the responses on this thread. It has become so long now and because I had my problem solved early I lost track of it but I find it troubling that so many here are still having issues.

The morning I briefly had my trouble (Expired License) I put in a support ticket on MyPresonus.com. Below was my response:

I was and still am good to go but I fear that from what I'm reading in this thread there are more problems to come for everybody. Again, I hope I'm wrong.
