If you are having a problem logging into Studio One, please take a look at this article

I had that problem 24 hours ago and just completed a session with no issues. Seems to have fixed itself for me anyway.

:)JB

Also should add - this "fix" was most appreciated - right up until Studio One once AGAIN - decided to create a new Customization.settings file and overwrote all my customizations.

Is this behavior ever going to stop?

Again - thank god for drive imaging. This annoying seemingly unsolvable issue is literally driving me nuts.

woah really?
it didn't happen to me (tho' right 1 hour ago dunno what happened but my mouse tools got changed since this afternoon without notice) I customized the hell out of it ... can you share the actual location of this file? and being a relatively noob: can I just overwrite the existing and suppose everything is back to where it was?
Also do you recommend backing up the prefs and settings in a specific way?

The file is called Customization.settings and resides in the (hidden) AppData\Roaming\Presonus\Studio One 7 folder structure.

ALL the key settings files are here.

Yes and yes. I run a daily custom backup of all my S1 settings - just for cases like this.

best true & tested practice you use for that daily backup?

Custom scripted backup using Syncback Pro 11

wow.... was trying to reset the password to see if this solves the login issues and this is what I get

Also tried on the Fender website with the same result. (also with incognito page)

and I get an error even when I send a support ticket

After reading the recent exchanges between Vocalpoint and coro I wanted to make sure all was still well with my set up tonight. I launched Studio One and all is still well, but I don't know whether to feel secure or not yet seeings that these two people continue to have issues. Might I be safe because I don't have a Fender account? I had a brief issue yesterday (Thursday. License Expired) morning but it seemed to straighten itself out and it's been good since. I hope I continue to have success with it and I hope that all here get their problems solved soon too.

OK sent a email to support@presonus.com and explained the issue. And got this auto-reply:

Hello,
We apologize for the inconvenience; please log in to your account and create a support ticket via our support portal.

Where I can't log in...

What a f**king clown show.

How on earth do you contact this company?

Hiya, I don't think you need to contact support, it would seem Presonus are aware of the problem and will be working at getting things up and running.

Best of regards

I must of missed this one, but the ref: to expiry date is as @Vocalpoint has highlighted in the graphic above.
I know that. But while reading this thread, I got the impression that problems arise mainly at the expiry date of the subscription. The expiry date of my subscription is 9.12.2025, and I pointed out that these 2 months should be enough time for Presonus to fix this. So hopefully I will not have to deal with it.

I'm not sure if Studio One losing activation at the end of a subscription period is caused by the account migration Presonus -> Fender. Instead, I think the conversion of 12m Pro+ subscriptions into perpetual licenses doesn't work properly. I also think that this conversion is supposed to happen at the end of the subscription, which would explain that during the subscription everything in my.presonus is labeled as Pro+ content, including content that is part of Studio One and is supposed to stay active even if you don't renew your subscription, such as Deep Flight One, Sub Zero Bass and Cinematic Lights.

Sorry I didn't want to sound dismissive of the problem and I understand your concern. Quite a problem for some.
Please accept my apology if it appeared that way.

Edit: posting after a long day I was not fully focused....stuff deleted.

If I have time i will get back and run to see if the Vst's are still active on my c'puter as my Sub has expired. If that will help.

Best of regards for now.

My subscription ends in January 2026, and I've had no problems logging in, so I think this is probably close to the truth:

I very much hope that PreSonus/Fender get this sorted out quickly, as reading around the Interwebs this is doing their reputation no good whatsoever.

@brmichael

Deep Flight One, Sub Zero Bass and Cinematic Lights. All still load and work. So if they flake out at your renewal date you may need to contact support. I have passed my 12 month deadline...OK :)

Best regards

Well, then maybe they should contact their customers and inform them that they’re working on it — especially now that many of us are locked out of Studio One.

Probably, I'm not part of Presonus so I cannot't help further!

Some folk are having issues that seem to resolve tho'. Post's above suggest that's the case.

Well I'm totally baffled by S1 options. I have S1 Pro version (I think). I got the activation request msg (on Oct 11) which I'd never seen before so I assumed they'd changed to some kind of subscription option. (I don't keep up with this stuff). So after several confusing logins I ended up paying $149 to activate and now I can use it. (But I don't see anything that costs $149 on their website.)

So after reading these posts it seems like I should have waited for something to get fixed? My copy says it's valid until 9.10.2026 even tho I paid on Oct 11. Anyway I don't know if I can resolve this since their support site is so convoluted I don't know where I am.

Just looking for some advice. Thanks.

edit: Looks like I bought the S1 Pro 7 Perpetual License Upgrade.

$149 is the upgrade price for an older version of Studio One (4, 5, 6) to a perpetual license for Studio One Pro 7. Which version did you have before the purchase/activation?

What's confusing me is the fact that your copy says it's only valid until 9.10.2026. That sounds like a subscription, which expires on 9.10.2026. But the regular price for the annual subscription is $179, not $149. So I think you purchased a perpetual license rather than a subscription. But with a perpetual license, you get updates for one year. Maybe that's it what "validity until..." means. If so, then Studio One will continue to work after 9.10.2026, but won't receive any more updates. If you're happy with the version Presonus gave you until 9.10.2026, that's no problem. You will still be able to use Studio One.

IMHO...
That would be a very reasonable assumption you had previously discussed, the Fender A/C merg causing most difficulty

The folks Subs ending/Perpetual conversion from access to updates is not so much an issue in general.
The update period coming to an end means no future updates until you re-subscribe...yes/no?

The accounts that expire are being flagged as ended so it may be a server update transaction taking a little time?.
Folk have bought SO1 for 12 months at different times = lots of dates to juggle.
Previously folks bought in with a Ver/Point based system, now it's time based so it's reasonable to assume some difficulties would be encountered.

The merging of A/C and Fender appears to be the one that is causing this recursive password ID login crap.

That's my estimate/guess of what it looks like to me, but like you, I am just an end user.

Regards

What's confusing me is the fact that your copy says it's only valid until 9.10.2026.

What is even more confusing is that I did exactly nothing (outside of submitting a ticket) - and have the same expiry date - for a license that should not have ANY expiry date:

1760357301857.png

Also heard back from support with a bizarre solution stating that all I needed to do was "re-activate" the software.

However on Friday when I experienced the license lockout for the first time - I simply waited about 30 minutes, tried S1 again and it fired right up - so I did not have to "do" anything.

I am now really concerned about the "expiry" listed in the screencap above. Logically - I have not renewed my annual updates and therefore should be running on a "forever" perpetual license - which as I understand it - has no expiry.

So this date above is a mystery - and call me crazy - but whatever was done behind the scenes on 10-11-2025 to "fix" the bulk of us not being able to get into S1 - seems to now have the ability to start this chaos all over again on Oct 9, 2026.

Overall - it appears that Presonus really did not write this whole expiry process correctly and certainly has not tested it.
