WHAT IS FENDER STUDIO PRO 8 ??????

Did you buy it before it became integral part of v7? Because for me it isn't listed, either (but of course I have it in my v7).

I'm not sure! I certainly didn't buy it separately, but it may have been bundled with the versions of v4 and v5 that I did buy.

What surprises me is the fact that I got Fender Studio Pro 8 for free although I have no subscription (my Studio One Pro 7 subscription ended on 13/12/2025).

I already installed & activated it, it works :)

So you were on a perpetual license? If so - awesome.

I am too - but no sign of anything free here.

Oh and this has now happened too:

Say bye bye to your good ole MyPresonus account...

It has notation ..it has all of the 7.2.3 functional ) but t hink this update is mostly garbage) A couple of really useful functions, and everything else is extremely questionable, like 3D knobs in plugins in the Studio 1 flat interface, or the Fender Mustang plugin (which Fender themselves stopped producing 17 years ago) drum metronome ) terrible channel overview ...e.t.c

I have strong fears that this path will lead Studio One to the same place where Gibson once led Cakewalk.

Presonus is gone and I think that's an absolute shame. The Kids don't want to make beats with Fender gear and it's obviously who they're gearing this towards with their taglines all over the site. I feel bad for the devs who tirelessly devoted years to improving Studio One and making it an attractive name for hobbyists and professionals alike. Feels like a white label product.

I wonder if there is a month grace period. Mine ended on 12/12/25 and I do not see any sign of Pro 8 in my products. Wouldn't that just SUCK if I missed it by a day??? haha...I don't know, maybe you just got lucky, or maybe it will slowly be rolling out into more accounts.

I almost had a panic attack, but the music notation support is there in Fender Studio Pro 8; so all is good. :)

It's included in my Studio One Pro+ subscription, which I suppose now is Fender.

Finding the download was not so difficult, and it installed with no problems.

My current song opened nicely, which is good.

It looks pretty much the same as Studio One Pro 7.2.3.

I will explore it . . .

Just installed it on my home computer - where if it fails it won't risk anything in the studio! First thing I notice is that the very first Fender Studio Pro article in the News Feed is in Chinese. Not really a good start!

If you guys can't find it on the Presonus site try on my.fender.com

Some positives for me so far:

- Musical metronome. No more forced illogical American subdivision system (no offense intended)
- Drum based click lets you replace the click sound with a drum loop. You can even make your own loop from an Impact track.
- Suggested chords and other chord track editing QOL updates.
- Fades and crossfades for Impact and SampleOne , finally.
- New digital reverb, sounds nice.
- Fender Mustang and Rumble plugins. Lots of amps for guitar and bass. Just about all popular fender amps. Sounds good so far, although the UX is a bit clunky and awkward.
- No more micro view shenanigans. Now one click opens the plugin window and double click expands the micro view as God intended.
- New channel overview window is great if you come from Ableton Live and it could be a workflow changer as long as you take the time to customize the edit parameters on your most used plugins.
- There's an Extract Drums (release notes says "beats" but in the program it's "drums") and Extract Notes feature under the Audio menu. Extracting notes works pretty well, extracting drums not so much.
- UI is much clearer and readable in general. For example, the Insert/Sends separator isn't hidden anymore.
- Pro Tools style arranger overview. I don't think I'll use this one so much but I know a lot of people asked for it.

Some (very minor) negatives:

- Native plugins' UI still can't be resized, except for Mustang and Rumble. Sample One and Impact lost their colorful options in favor of a light/dark scheme.
- The launcher still feels a bit under-cooked.
- There's a new smart template called "Jam Now" that looks pretty interesting but I couldn't download any of the tracks to try it out. It's also not clear if this list will be updated by Fender or if it can be updated by the user, in either case it would be an awesome feature to have.
- Had a little crash while searching the word "fender" on the plugin browser.

The 'Jam Now' feature is carried over from the mobile Fender Studio app (for which transfers have been improved, I believe). There are some reasonable backing tracks on there, and I'd quite like to hear them on a decent system.

Loving the new Overview!

It looks like most of the update is focussed on interoperability between the free Fender Studio and the new (paid) Fender Studio Pro. So you can start a project on your iPad and transfer it to your desktop to finish. That's certainly why they added the amp sims and the reverb.

We probably need to wait for the next proper update to get a feel for the direction Fender are going in but we can expect a few "quick fix" releases before that.

This was the one thing i was super excited for when seeing the Release Notes earlier today. I've tried a few different drum recordings and it is always off, seems to use whatever algorithm is used for general audio to midi. I don't know how they've simplified this but still havn't gotten it right. The one thing i've hoped for an improvement for years so i wouldn't have to go into Cubase every time i need to prep drum replacement.

Other thoughts
- Performance way worse than 7.2.3 - same sessions on 7.2.3 which uses minimal CPU are maxxing out and clipping within Fender Studio.
- Takes alot longer to load sessions
- I really don't like the UI. I always find 3d/beselled effects really off putting

Sticking with S1 7 for now, if i don't commit to Cubase

I did not see any differences between versions here. Are you sure you're using the same Dropout Protection Settings in both versions and all other relevant settings are the same, too?

Which plug-ins are maxing out? Can it be a plug-in issue?

Logic just went to subscription

Hey Lukas

Slate plugins seems to be the 'constant' in all the sessions opened so far. I use FG-Stress on everything and have just noticed it is not doing anything on any track its inserted on (which would explain why it sounds quieter on FSP 8 than S1 7)

As far as I can see from their website, the subscription is only for the iPad version. The MacOS DAW is a still one-time purchase at £199.99.

No performance differences whatsoever on my home rig. I'll try the studio setup tomorrow, but the relatively limited changes to the core program give me no fears of any performance hit.
