Hmm. I‘ll offer my 2 Pfennigs and then leave it alone.
I'll follow up on your comments since they somewhat align with mine.
I did not know the breadth and depth of Fender‘s erasure of everything Presonus. If I had been a long time user of Studio One, I‘d be quite pissed off.
This has been my contention with Fenders approach here. Long time Studio One user, and I feel Fender could have ran with "Presonus' Studio One 8, by Fender (in small text)" if they wanted to place their stakes in the DAW realm. That would have at least bolstered Presonus who have had a loyal following with their DAW, and equipment hardware. Studio Pro 8? Where the hell is 1 thru 7!
A lot of work by Craig and others just POOF?! Gone? That is really out of line and disrespectful.
Greg will tell you the same, but as a gentleman, and a professional, he has integrated smoothly into the change. Me? I'm no gentleman.
On the other issue, I wish them luck trying to force Yamaha or PRS to abandon their ST model guitars. I was thinking of getting one of PRS‘s Silver Light SEs (or whatever they‘re called) Strat knockoffs, but there‘s a Martin D-18 or Yamaha FG9 in my near future.
Both Yamaha Pacificas and the PRS‘s are still for sale at Thomann.
Actually, based on a recent response by Fender's CEO, their issue is with direct copies of their Strat and Telle designs. You know, actual identical copies. The Pacifica, and PRS have slightly varied differences on their theme. This is not Fender's beef (or lawsuit). They actually promote such similar designs. Similar to the Harley Davidson position years ago on the Japanese V twin cruisers. Rather than sue (which they actually did with Honda's Shadow, over a sound patent). They instead took the position of, hey you want a Rolex? You buy a Rolex. Taking the we have the real thing, approach. Thats smart marketing, and it worked!
I‘m sure that mostly makes people roll their eyes. The destruction of resources meant to help this community seems more egregious, imo. I‘m grateful for this resource, and while politics can‘t be completely removed from these situations in the musician/recordist community, it is best to not let it get out of hand.
Very true. What really gets out of hand are these bloggers who know commenting is more click bait intended, than the issue at hand. Far be it, Rick Beato would ever gravitate to click bait with his never ending top twenty whatever, shallow ratings. You get my drift. Every major blogger stated some version of "Well, I wasn't going to comment on this but......", then clearly acted on some holy-er-than-thou position, not even knowing the complete story.
I didnt know any post in this forum was closed. LoL. That's rare that I'm not in the mix, or cause. How refreshing.
Hey, get that Martin D18! They're still fine guitars. I bought a HD28-V about ten years back, and they are as luscious now, as the one's I played in the mid seventies. I'm on my third Fender Strat, that is a MIJ vintage 54' tobacco. Out of this world good. It's no different than buying a Strat or Telle is a hit or miss with Fender. It's been that way since the seventees. I lived it. Even worked at a Sam Ash at that time in NYC. I still have a 68' Fender P bass that I will never part with. Love their guitars, when theyre good, they're great. When theyre bad, they suck!
It's part of their essence. ; ) Just like an oil dripping on the showroom floor, Harley Davidson. You buy into the attitude.
And like a Harley, if someone has to ask.. . , well then, dont.
I have many name brand guitars (acous & elec), and I love them all. Even, the more cost effective Harley Benton's. Name brand, or knock-off. They all have their own story.
People will always quibble about something. Particularly, the armchair CEO's.
That includes the click bait bloggers.
