Major problems..

I am able to download that UC 3.6.0, but if offers no firmware update option like that first time yesterday. And the nature of the red light changed when I updated the firmware... Its now a different pulsating red, as opposed to just a solid red that it was before.

Maybe a combination of both? Follow the video instructions until the blue light comes back, and then use UC1.8 (as per the PreSonus instructions) to update the interface. See if that holds.
I've done everything the gentleman said from the video.. It will not allow me to download UC1.8, unfortunately

On the PreSonus Downloads page, when you select Windows 10 (64-bit) and scroll down it gives you UC v1.3 and UC v1.8 too.

Also, the page in the link I posted links to other pages on the subject 1818VSL. See if your situation fits one of those cases.

Yes sir, it will not allow me to download UC v1.3, as it says that my interface needs to be connected first- which of course it is.
I am able to download UC v1.8, but that does nothing, and there is no firmware updating option either. I may just be SOL

I'm really wondering about how to change the firmware back to what it was. Does anyone know how to do that? Everything changed when I updated the firmware..

Out of curiosity with everything connected can you take a screen grab of Device Manager and post it on here.

Make sure the Sound Video and games tab is open and if any USB ports have a warning triangle, please.

But to be honest, you may need to contact Presonus for help or guidance.

Kindest regards

There is a link to support in my sig

Hiya again.
Looking at the image there are no drivers for that Presonus card installed?
I assume you have you removed the drivers you previously had installed?

I was hoping to see a USB device error, but it looks like there isn't even an "Unknown Device" which shows up when a Usb is active that needs a driver.

It might be best if you contact Presonus... @BobF has kindly offered the link in his sig.

Kindest of regards for now.
Hope you can get it fixed though !

Hello kind sir. Thanks for chiming in to help me. I am almost at an end.. I would hate to buy a new interface and toss this one- it's still in good shape!
Anyway, I clicked on your Signature and there is nothing there. Maybe I didn't click on the correct link?

Hello again! Busy week, just getting back to this..
Correct, I removed the drivers that I had previously installed.

If the sound card was connected via USB it may have shown up as an "Unknown Device". Unless it is running as a Class compliant device, It may be buried in your USB Serial controllers in Device manager.

I am just trying to help find out if the port is active on your Sound Card. But as I said before Presonus Support might be the best place for help.

Kindest regards.

As long as you can get the interface back to blue by whichever procedure works then there's hope. From that point onwards it's a matter of using the proper versions of UC, in the correct order, to get both the driver and the firmware on the correct version for your OS, and to get your OS to make the correct driver-interface connection too. The whole process may even require an older VSL compatible computer/OS to install intermediate firmware before you can proceed on your target computer. And it may take a few trial and errors to find the correct solution. So if Customer Support can't help (because the interface is out of service) then take in the information from the links and the video's and start experimenting, systematically. All 3 elements (driver, firmware, OS driver assignment) must be correct for a working interface.

Last remark: From my PC days I remember that the OS could have the correct driver assignment for some USB ports, and not for others. So make sure you use the same (USB2) port for the whole process. Once you have one port working you can turn your attention to the other ports, if need be.
