Waiting for SO 7 update news

The update looks a bit underwhelming at first glance, but since nothing has been announced yet, I'll just wait and see. The new modulation matrix sounds interesting at least.
From what I can see in my MyPresonus account: It looks like they have dropped the upgrade price under the “magical” threshold of 100 $/€. So imho it’s a solid upgrade for that price. But this is yet to be confirmed.

Is that for Ver 8 ?
All I could find was a ver 7 it all seems a muddle at the mo',
I would be interested to hear a breakdown of the Mod matrix, ?

Kindest regards, BBL

Wait and see who starts leaving the company before upgrading. Stay with V7 for a while. For those who paid for updates for a period I wonder if it includes going from V7 to V8. Maybe not.

Well, I have the 7.2.3. And the info text says "all updates" included for one year. If I take them by their word: they always said, that any new version within the timespan will be included. And before the regular one year renewal was $/€149. So this is my assumption.

But I agree: let's wait for official announcements before buying.

I'm on a Pro+ subscription as well, no v8 (not even in my car) present over here. A bunch of updates for Ampire, Cinematic Lights, and mix engines trickled in though..
And, I indeed seem to have a filled up my.fender.com account.

"This seems to be a late christmas gift. My 12 month of support ended on November 16th, 2025. I'm on Studio One 7.2 now. My.presonus.com list Fender Studio Pro 8 as a product I own."

Morning all.

So the little voice in my head was right :)

Wow. Big action today. Nothing in my account - assuming because I am on a perpetual "free" zone right now.

But - I just logged into me Fender Account - and see everything is now tricked out in there:

And - I just saw new versions of Lead Architect and Cinematic Lights drop into my account tho...

My upgrade price has dropped to $99USD/$125CDN - so that is a good thing.

Need to study these release notes - but even at first glance - I am not exactly being wowed.

Also - no sign anywhere of the much anticipated Native Instruments MKIII v2 Firmware integration either.

That one - I was actually waiting for. Could be time for a pass for now.

Those coffee grains were pretty accurate "old shoe".

In passing, I notice the Announcement panel has gone from the top of the forum, the Fender NDA must be a ball breaker for one or two folk.

Best of regards

The results of the new 'Extract Drums' feature.

Why have they never been able to get audio to MIDI right? This is genuinely the one thing i need S1 (or FP) to do right and i'd never even mention another DAW ever again

EDIT: Play around with it for about 30 mins now. To me other than the worse UI, any changes made (including addition of fender amps) are not relevant to my needs. I was really hoping they would fix Audio to MIDI and i got pretty excited reading the Release Notes earlier seeing their Beat Extract/drum replacement new feature. Screenshot shows this doesn't work well at all. This is literally the only feature i need but disheartened that many iterations later, still not been addressed.

I think i'm going to stick to S17 or commit to Cubase

No, I won't subscribe for subscription, but yes, I will buy an upgrade to 7.2.3 if it has valuable additions \changes. I mainly do scores, but I would upgrade even if the changes applied to other types of music. I want two things: for SO perpetual to continue and I want the yearly (not bug) updates to stay current with industry changes and AI tools that make composition quicker/better (not just easier).

For 98% of users of DAW's, I think SO is the most friendly and feature laden DAW out; I just want Fender to recognize that feedback and growth with the customer base is essential in today's fast paced world. Communication needs to be factual, consistent, and ongoing. I don't mind $150 for perpetual, but I need to know that customers are valued and out input counts. I could use 7.2.3 for a very long time and be happy, but I'd like to support Presonous IF communication actually is a two-way function.

I would say most users find SO the best fit for our needs, but the last three months have not been encouraging for us "perpetual" license buyers. Now is the time to communicate with SO users and let us know what will happen in 2026, so us perpetual users can put our money into a product that reflects value for our current and growing needs in producing music. This would be a big step in building the relationship that happened to perpetual users confidence in our value to Presonous/Fender.

Again, I could use 7.2.3 for a very long time, but I would love to buy a perpetual license for 7.3 in January that had a couple of major new tools, and then fixes for the year. Treat us perpetual user and not just customers, but folks who will help you drive SO's reputation. Word of mouth is still the most powerful marketing tool IMHO.
I couldn't agree more.
Just out of interest, do you use SO's score writing feature? After having used Sibelius for decades, and despite its many, many problems, I've still not managed to find a better alternative. I glanced at SO's built-in thing, but it looked a bit basic.

Also just reading some Reddit crosstalk - it appears (NOT confirmed) that if you purchase an upgrade - you get not one - but two years worth of updates.

If this is true - I may just pull the trigger on this after all...

Interesting, would make for an attractive purchase if true.

Anyone else disappointed with the rebrand? I know Studio One had kind of been losing ground in terms of brand recognition to other DAWs recently, but I don't think Fender Studio Pro is the answer. Just the fact that Fender Studio is more like a GarageBand type of thing makes me think of Fender Studio Pro as a less professional option. Even though I know it's ultimately the same thing under the hood...

Doesn't look like that's the case on the website. At least that's not what they are advertising.

Not saying it was on the website.

Some users are indicating they popped for the upgrade and then - back in their shiny new Fender accounts - their "updates" renewal date has now displays 01-13-2028

Which is magically two years of updates and not one.

Also not saying this is advertised or even mentioned anyway - but some folks are reporting they are getting this.
