Studio One 7.2 - Discussion Thread

Bounce/export is now stable on my system 😅 Hallelujah!

Thank you soooooo much for making the icons for VST3, VST2, AU and CLAP more legible and different colors!!!

Hiding of duplicate plugins does not seem to work? I've been doing that manually for years so not a huge deal, but sounds promising.

Overall this update seems to be nice spit and polish all around on my setup 🙏 All the sessions I used to be able to either crash opening or bouncing are all working without issue now.

Before people think Sub Zero Bass is "just another instrument," check it out. I always use my own bass samples and synth presets, but that might change.

I would love to know how to install it. v7.2 is installed. My extra "content" (Studio One->Installation) is up to date - but I do not see this Sub Bass instrument anywhere. Espeically where I thought it might be (Available Downloads)

Perpetuals probably do have to “claim” again in the My.Presonus account.

Yep - Familiar with that process. If I had something to "claim"...

But here is what I have in my Presonus account...

Did you open your Studio One 7 entry? "This product comes with..." and there it is (at least for me).

Update feels great! Thanx to the team!

Ah - my bad. Guess I did not remember this process as accurately as I thought. Thanks!

EDIT:
-------
I found it on mypresonus account->MY PRODUCTS->Studio One Pro 7
and under "THIS PRODUCT COMES WITH..." as the last download, you found the "SUB ZERO BASS" new instrument.

=============
I think to remember that when I bought SO7 the new instruments weren't here but I had downloaded them directly from my presonus account... try it

Regarding the new option for e-cores, does it also work for Intel's 12/13/14th Gen?

This is Mac only. No options over here for my 13th Gen i5

Almost exactly 10 years after my feature request we now got proper pre-roll and post-roll for auto-punch. That made my day, thanks!

What is post-roll for?

What is post-roll for?

See Gregors (new) excellent YT vid on how this works. Well worth it for punch and roll vocal work.

Yeah you`re rigt. But I´ve got to claim it. So yes pressing the claim-button will get you a download button.

Updated and noticed that Strymon BigSky (when switching to “Magneto” program) causes S1 to report that the “Plugin sent invalid data”, and disables the plugin.
I have tried AU and VST3 version of the plugin.

Of course before updating to 7.2 - it worked fine.

Sent Strymon support a mail. Hope will be fixed soon.

Besides that I, really liked the new features

Updated, all OK on an initial test drive. Compliments to the folk in the kitchen. 🥂

Will be doing the download the "SUB ZERO BASS" dance tomorrow.

Best regards.

I have a big problem with 7.2. I have Dropout Protection set to Off with no issues on 7.1. However, in 7.2, I am getting huge CPU spikes on any song using Amplitude 5. Songs without Amplitude are OK.
So, I have to either set Dropout Protection to Minimum or go back to 7.1.
In the new release, they've added support to use the efficiency cores of the M4, and this is turned on by default in the audio preferences. Try turning this off. I was getting spiking like you with some plugins, and turning off the use of the efficiency cores got me back to normal (at least, so far). With an M4 Max, you don't really need the efficiency cores.

I like that Studio One stuck to the performance cores, as all the other apps I run (browsers, Evernote, Preview, etc) happily live on the efficiency cores, keeping the performance cores reserved for S1. Early on, I did a load test, and even when loaded to the limit, it behaved stably. But I'm on an M4 Pro, and there's more than enough performance cores. However, taking advantage of the efficiency cores on the base M4 would add a lot of extra cycles.

This is a major change to the audio engine, so there might be a few teething problems.

someone has tested the new stem separation ?
I've tried it. In my test, I didn't notice much difference, but in fairness, this wasn't an A/B comparison.
