Session audio going out of sync when activating a sidechain on a plugin

Have you tried turning off (or removing) plugins to see if the sync gets re-established in your song? Some plugins might send wrong latency information to the Daw or S1 might misinterpret them. ProEQ3 LLC in High Quality had that issue if I remember correctly.

Here is one way I know of, how to unsync the Sidechain, but I'm pretty sure this is not the same issue as in your song..

I've tried inserting Pipeline in the offending session and suddenly the audio gets synced - it’s working again!!! It actually doesn't matter the order of the plugins - if Pipeline is present on the channel either before or after the FabFilter Pro-C2, the audio goes back to being in sync!

For sure this is a hack and I'm sure there's an issue here that warrants further investigation by PreSonus but at least with this hack I can go back to using side chain in plugins without worrying about the audio going of time! I want to try it in other sessions too but this is the first breakthrough in this problem that I've had for months!

I'll try to revive the bug report with PreSonus with this new information.

I've tried inserting Pipeline in the offending session and suddenly the audio gets synced - it’s working again!!! It actually doesn't matter the order of the plugins - if Pipeline is present on the channel either before or after the FabFilter Pro-C2, the audio goes back to being in sync!

Damn, I spoke too early...

In fact, if I insert Pipeline XT then press setup mode (wrench), I get sound through the channel and the audio is in sync even with the sidechain enabled.
But unfortunately, when I close Pipeline's window no sound gets through the channel it's placed on. Is there any way to counter this behaviour? Having Pipeline just "sitting there" passing audio through in order to get the side effect of fixing the audio sync issue?

On the bottom right corner of Pipeline there is a Mix Knob. When you turn it all the way to the left, Audio should pass through.
I'm still wondering how Pipeline fixes the latency issue though. Has it just by chance the right latency to correct it? If so, does the Offset setting (that changes the latency of the plugin) change anything in the sync of your project?

Hello @FMN-Music thanks, this solves the problem for me!

As for why Pipeline fixers things, I really don't know. I'm going to try to update my tech support question with this new information, maybe it will help them to look into the issue.

I think it's very unlikely that Pipeline ends up fixing the exact latency necessary for my project, it would be a big coincidence. Because the tempo gets to be dead on again when I insert Pipeline...

I haven't had the time but I will be trying the Pipeline thing in other projects where I had the sync issue. Do you have any that you could try out to see if it also fixes things on your side?
