None are running as admin. Why will drag and drop in Fender Pro 8 not work and Presonus Studio One 7 drag and drop work both running on the same machine?

I have got both versions on the same machine and drag and drop is working perfectly fine in both.

Both 7 & 8 working here also... ✌️

More details needed. Drag and drop always has a source and a target.

I try to drag a wave file into a track or an empty session and it does not work in 8.I try to drag snare or kick samples into my Bogren drums and it won't work but if I close Studio pro 8 and use the Bogren drums as standalone it works.

You drag a wave file from Studio Pro's browser into a session and it doesn't work? So what exactly happens? As I said: More details needed.
I drag from my desktop into Studio Pro which is on another screen.Works fine in Studio one 7.

I've had this issue on a previous version. Check if you're running the program as an Administrator. If you are then disable that and run it normally.

As I said in the first post I am not running as administrator. My drummer has the same system as myself and is having no problems so it must be a setting I have wrong in Fender 8 because Presonus 7 works fine.

Works fine on my system. I drag WAV files all day long never have an issue.

Ideally - seeing a screencap of what you see right BEFORE the drop (is there a "X" or a "Whoa Cant do that here!" kinda icon) or ?

And where - exactly are you dragging from? The Browser? Explorer? Windows Desktop etc etc.

Thanks for the the vid.

Now - what happens if you have a clean session like the video - just NOT maximized on that first monitor - but sized to fit on the main single monitor and then drag a file into the clean session from the desktop of the main monitor - NOT the secondary?

Also curious to see what happens when you drag something from the Studio Pro Browser as well.

I cannot replicate the issue in your vid - but I also do not have multiple monitors.

Finally - can you screencap the properties of your Studio Pro 8 Icon - right click on it, choose Properties and check the following:

Just want to make sure this is not an Run as Admin thing

In notice you haven't an audio interface set up (icon left lower corner, next to the MIDI monitor icon). What happens if you add an interface in the Audio options menu? (Studio Pro>Options>Audio Setup>Audio Device)

My audio interface is a Universal Audio Apollo.

I understand you have one, but StudioPro doesn't seem to be aware of it prior to you dragging in the file (according to the icon). If you point SP to the interface in the above mentioned options menu, perhaps SP will react differently to audio files being dragged into it's arranger, because it has a possibility to route that audio to. It's just a thought, might be nonsense...

Gerran is onto something here:

Your audio interface is not connected.

And if so - there is no possibility of D&D.

Probably why none of us can replicate.

Seems like something else is going over there.

@Gerran - great catch!

My interface is connected.I just don't have the little icon.I can drag from the browser.I also tried every monitor configuration on my 3 screens maximized and minimized with no success. My question is why does it work in 7 and not 8?

No one can answer why it works in 7 but not in 8 as none of us can replicate. Clearly something on your machine.

But that icon for your interface is interesting, Mine works perfectly (in 7 and 8) and I do not even have a icon with a "cross-out" like yours.

And did you drag and drop - just from monitor 1 to an open Studio Pro - also on Monitor 1 (exactly as Windows numbers them)?

Also - what's the status of Admin on the shortcut icon?
