Here is a link to the full information. Short version: inMusic Brands, the US-based owner of Akai, Moog, Denon, Numark, Rane, and M-Audio, announced today that it will acquire Native Instruments. That puts NI tools like Traktor and Kontakt under the inMusic umbrella along with Plugin Alliance, iZotope, and Brainworx.

Yeah, I hope so. I just updated my Native Access the other day from my having Komplete Ultimate. It all went smoothly. Hope that continues. The legacy issues could be huge.
I also hope those who have vested interest in the latest NKS controller integration for the NI, S Series MkIII's to get the goods they've been waiting on (all too long now). Although, that seems to be more of a Fender bender, than Native Inst issue.
Maybe on Fender's behalf, a little less guitar fluff, and more DAW to current instrument and protocol catch up is in order.
Just shaking the cookies out of the bed.

Yep. inMusic have their work cut out for them, and things will have to be wrung out. Unfortunately, that means layoffs for some, with new sights for others. Still, when the dust settles (no doubt, likely with lawsuites), the overall development looks to be exciting. Now, where........ did that squirrel go. 
I share your concern in general, but I'm happy to say I've never needed NI support beyond what questions in a forum could answer.

I used their support just once - and then ended up showing them the solution.
This does remain one of their biggest weak points however. Too much Ai slop automation and not enough actual senior level analyst brainpower over there.
Hoping that In Music applies a little capitol on making that team better. They sorely need it (given the size of their overall portfolio of "stuff")

Really good points by all! I think the article is very well written, and shows just how much can benefit, as well as end up in multi car pile ups. The likelyhood that the eco system will be stronger, yet hit hard in places as that's a lot of companies under one umbrella!
Fear not because amidst the changes, Fender have placed their bullet strings down, and have all the catch up on their end all thoughtfully lined up. They are "all in" on supporting the long lasting DAW users, as well as the newcomers, as well as weeding through the existing (yet ever changing) code put there, to get you the product you're looking for.

Well, if things do get dicey I'll just quit making music. I'll be 71 in July and my health is not exactly stellar anymore. It will have to stop for me some time. I might as well make that the "defining moment" to pack it in. I've got too many more important things to worry about other than what DAW or plugin company is going to make a move to take my "toys" away, especially the ones I paid for. So, that's when I'll be saying "to hell with it". I hope nothing changes but that's how I'm going to handle it.

In any event, please watch your health. All this muck about acquisition news is nothing more than watching the game between innings (or quarters, or periods). We, as fans enter the arena as well. Get in a good kick, between the uprights and come away a winner.
I spent the last four months moving my family south. It was a LOT, but it's finally over. Haven't spent much time in the forum, or my music but I'm thrilled to get the music going again. New sights, and new imagery to be inspired by! Besides, I'm just a few years younger than you.
Its always best to focus on you, that obviously includes health. No doctors or perscriptions, but your own organic well being. Largely eating right! Then your family or loved ones because they count on you.
We can all stay positive and keep the bow pointed ahead to the horizon. There are many days and winds ahead to sail, brother.
To sum it up, never, quit. And damn sure, never, ever quit, because of them.

InMusic don't have a record of deprecating perpetual licences in favour of subscriptions. NI already offer their 360 subscriptions, and - like Fender/PreSonus - they have more than enough data to determine what the best mix of perpetual and subscriptions is. I doubt anything will change.I just hope nothing bad is going to happen to our perpetual licenses. Wavs almost did it a few years back.

Common guys, I'm 76. Agent Orange took the nerves (large fiber neuropathy), genetic knees problems, 11 cancers (again Dr. thinks agent orange), and my 82 year old friend and I are going into the Southwest trying to finish a documentary on SW venomous snakes, spiders, & Scorpions. I love to make music for my videos and stills (53 TB of images/videos online). I've been retired since I sold a business 21 years ago and I still haven't done enough fun stuff. How much effort (I have both ILok and Kontakt based vst's just in case) does it take to do music. Just make sure your not totally tied to one eco system. I say let them take my cameras or key boards from my cold, hands. Live while you can.

So I just installed my S49 MkII driver to my new laptop. I havent been able to catch up on these things these last few months due to our move. Needless to say, all went smooth as silk including the audio interface software, some Plugin Alliance and Izotope plugs. Somehow these reports of what is going on the market front, while not intentionally sent to reap havoc, get interpreted as somehow dire. These are all quite reliable brands, and just mentioning this stuff is working fine even when newly installed. Let's just hope, everyone else keeps up, which will likely happen.
As the saying goes, just keep stock of your own inventory.

Yes, I installed 2.1.2 on my S88 Mk 3 a few days ago. I now have fine control on the encoders (with the Shift key pressed). That, as far as I'm aware, is the only 'meaningful' update for FSP8 users. I note that my P-1M had fine control available before the Windows 11 MIDI 2.0 update.
