Is there something to take away from the recent closure of the Studio One forum?

I miss Expert Chat, too. But here I am :)
Funny enough I never knew this existed either.

Now I miss not missing it 😔

But you're right, this place is better!

But moving past the whole rights aspect, my entire conclusion was about the critical nature of backing up our online experiences, and taking their custody and preservation into our own hands — which we successfully did do by the creation of this board — and yes, which is in a certain sense, an act of resistance against corporate overreach... I'm kinda curious why you had no thoughts whatever on that aspect of my post, alongside all your grievances with it?
I have some thoughts on it. I am glad you think along these lines - especially data preservation - but not everyone has a dog in that hunt.

Personally - I was on the old forum since 2014 - you would think after ten years - I would have been more selfish about the closure. I grabbed a few tidbits here and there in my "old forum" travels and stuck them in OneNote - but at the end of the day - I am glad I am here now.

Do not really think about the old forum anymore (or it's data) or what value might have been there. That old forum was not mine - and getting bent out of shape over someone elses decision on what happened does not last or matter.

All I wanna do is enjoy my time here now. Which I do. Moving forward....

My thoughts, as insignificant as they may be: closing and sealing the old forums makes it seem as if the company deems past customers as inconsequential as their old products. Not up to date with the very latest hardware/software? Too bad, we don’t want to even acknowledge your existence until you are.

Again, if it matters, most of the guys I know who depend on DAW to pay mortgages and groceries use versions of whatever well behind the latest/greatest, often on computers deemed obsolete…and when they run into an issue, they can and do go to the manufacturer page (or just call them)…

It may be passé but customer service for everyone is still king
