Everything worked as expected after dragging the multipreset file into the FX channel, but it appears that reopening the file results in complete cancelation of the two reverbs. Simply deactivating and reactivating one of them clears it up.
First of all, thank you very much for the kind words and also, for sharing your tip. You've found a workaround that addresses the following (page 369):
However, this effect works only with reverbs that generate randomized reverb effects. Otherwise, the reverb and the dry sound will cancel. Not all reverbs are suitable for this technique. I’ve tested the following reverbs, and they all work well: Eventide UltraReverb, Reverb Foundry HD Cart, Reverb Foundry Tai Chi, Overloud Breverb, Native Instruments Raum, and Universal Audio Lexicon 224. I’m sure plenty of other reverbs work, but those are the ones I can confirm as working well with this application...[snip]...The Room Reverb’s Eco mode won’t work with this technique. The reverbs must be set to HQ mode.
A workaround for other reverbs is to have identical parameters in both reverbs, except vary the decay time slightly for one reverb. This alters its audio, without changing the dry signal “leftovers” that are out of phase. A limitation is that the overall signal level will be lower, because some of the reverb will cancel.
Although the deactivating/reactivating option is smart, it could be a problem that the amount of cancellation will likely be different each time. Try the workaround mentioned above, which should give more predictable results and not require activating/deactivating.
