Fender Studio Pro 8 - Discussion Thread

Incidentally, what fr.audiofanzine says about there finally being a true stereo reverb is not correct.
The main algorithmic reverb before that, Room Reverb, has always been true stereo.
In the case of Open Air, the number of channels processed depends on the invited content and the IRs.

As a guitarist )) i tested mustang ampsim ) Well, it sounds like a Fender Mustang, which was popular 20 years ago) back when all digital processors sounded terrible (line 6, zoom, etc.)
In 2025, giving users this as like killer feature— when there's NDSP, Mercurial, and free Nam with tons of great profiles, - this t is a not funny joke .

In two projects that worked perfectly in s1 7.2.3, I caught two ctds when trying to change the dropout protection, after trying to insert a nadir, after a mustang in the mixer, the nadir was in bypass, despite the fact that the plugin was not in bypass) a very strange bug, in general, too many bugs in the first 20 minutes of work.

The audio batch converter is in the Studio Pro menu:

I'm dumb (or impatient) and thanks! Also thanks to Lukas :)

Found the first bug in Pro 8: Muting a track in the mixer doesn't reflect in the arrangement window and vice versa.

Solo buttons work fine when used on an unmuted track. But there's weird behaviour when soloing a muted track: soloing in the arrangement window does reflect in the mixer, while soloing in the mixer doesn't reflect in the arrangement window.

Besides these GUI errors, mute and solo do work as expected.

I can't tell you how annoying it is to have to click to open a plug-in window in mixer, and the fact that they didn't make it optional. It literally breaks my muscle memory, built up over the years. In 10 minutes of work, I made a hundred and fifty mistakes, opening Quick Edit instead of the plugin.
Breaking familiar functionality without providing options is just fucking genius.

I hear this all the time.... but most of the time, it's not a bug and not new either. Please take a look at this video:

1 click to open and close a plugin. I've waited years for this. I can unlearn the old lame double-click immediately.

remove precount icons from transport bar - is another annoying "feature"

Apologies if this is common knowledge, but as an occasional only PreSonus/Studio One user I'm not quite up to speed with things.
I am a registered user of Studio One Pro 7. What upgrade options do I have if I want to move up to Fender Studio Pro. Options involving minimal costs and hassle would be especially welcome 😉

Come on, those mixer fader caps are awful.
I think they look great. Not sure how someone could think there's anything wrong with them.... have to go back and check 7.2.3...

Reactions: AAV
3D elements and roundings in the flat modern design of s1 look absolutely alien and incredibly outdated, as if a designer from the 1990s was invited to the team..
All that remains is to add glow effects to the faders and knobs and what other glowing light bulbs
to finally complete the "design".

The inclusion of Fender's Mustang Amp sim has made me very happy! I use my Mustang GTX50 a lot, and it was always a real pain trying to replicate the pre-sets I was using on it in Studio One. Now, they are all there in the DAW! Yeah!

another bug...
double click on track - cause random - channel overview /mixer channel opening ...

I presume you've not tried the Mustang GTX 50 or 100?

imacken

You're wrong, I tried it)
But given that I have three tube heads, couple if cabs ,, Kemper profiler , Quad Cortex, and even earlier an Axe FX, and a couple more tube combos, I wasn't impressed at all by the Mustang, and it certainly can't impress me now with its sound from the early days of digital modeling, especially the high gains there are terrible.

The page for Fender Studio Pro says "Discounted perpetual license upgrades available for previous Studio One Professional or legacy Artist license owners (log in to see eligibility).". I have logged in but it is still showing a price of £169.99 for the Perpetual Licence. Yet, elsewhere I have seen an upgrade price of under 100. Any clues, anyone?

OK, well we'll agree to disagree on that. I love the GTX 50 and having the presets in Studio Pro is a huge boon for me.

When you login to MyFender, you'll see the option to upgrade your S1 licence for £89. However, there is no need to buy anything if your S1 licence still has time to run. Just install Studio Pro 8 then login to MyFender when prompted and you'll see your S1 licence info is carried over.
