Feed Studio One Audio into OBS Via ASIO

When capturing Studio One screens in OBS on Windows, to capture the audio you normally need to use Windows audio for both Studio One and OBS. Fotunately, it's possible to use ASIO thanks to the free OBS-ASIO plugin. However, as far as I can tell, your interface needs to have a loopback capability. I'm using this successfully with the PreSonus 1824c by selecting Mix 1/2 for Loopback in Universal Control. This allows sending Studio One's mixed output to OBS.

Download the OBS-ASIO plugin from GitHub. Install it, and open OBS. In the OBS Audio Mixer, click the + button in the Sources menu and choose "ASIO Input Capture." Double-click on it in the Sources box, and choose your ASIO interface.

I can't tell you how much simpler this makes my life when creating video examples for seminars and workshops :)

Reastream (by Cockos) makes it possible even though your interface doesn't have a loopback feature.
I've been using it a couple of times and it worked great.

That's good to know, I was under the impression that Restream was mostly for streaming audio and MIDI over a local area network to other computers. I do like that OBS-ASIO doesn't require inserting any plugins in Studio One, which I think is the case with Reastream. But I could be wrong, I haven't worked with it.

I heard good things about ASIO Link Pro but it seems the developer died, and it's been more or less abandoned.

I have already installed the OBS-ASIO Plugin. It works perfectly. My Loopback is handmade. That means my Focusrite GEN 2 has no internal hardwired Loopback. But if you connect SPDIF IN with SPDIF OUT it is working well. This workaround comes from Focusrite themselfes. Does anyone have an idea how to record the voiceover simulteaniously via the same interface in OBS? If I create a second ASIO in OBS then I can record my voice to the film and to the sound from Studio One. But how to export it? I have chosen channel 1 and 2 for Studio One sound. And channel 3 for my voice. So far so good. I am exporting into an mpeg4 file. How to extract the voice over channel? I want to edit this in Studio One for better quality. But I don't know how to extract it from that mpeg4 or directly from OBS while recording. Has anyone an idea?

Funny thing is that I have used just the loopback of my Motu M4 as the input for OBS for must be 4 years now. I have never installed the OBS driver?
I choose the Loopback and then input 1/2 so there’s 2 faders that I can use to balance the Daw playback with my narrative Mike. The Daw’s are all using ASIO. But this might be due to the fact I don’t check the give exclusive control option in window settings

Thanks for this. I use OBS for some basic music teaching on my YT page. I'll have to try this out...Cool.
