If you could manage to be able to save several tracks with the midi that would be awesome though..
Like, you could get rid of everyone's unfinished projects and just have them in an ideas folder..
Maybe it's not possible, but it would be so handy..
Before Templates and Presets, we used Import Song Data for this purpose. I kept a "song" as a Template holder. Open it and Import to it to save, Import to another song from it to retrieve.

As BobF mentioned, this is already possible - just a bit differently than you might expect.

Not sure how Auto-Colorize would work - would there be a list of colors to associate with specific words? Like Main Vox could be one shade of green, and Hrmny Vox could be a different shade of green? I use color a lot so I'm always interested in color-related workflow improvements.

Going back to previous posts regarding payment vs. inclusion in the software, granted most musicians aren't rich but if hard work isn't rewarded, there will be no incentive for creative people to create new tools. Furthermore, some these features are specialized. A company like Fender has to prioritize "blockbuster" additions to appeal to the greatest number of existing and potential users. Being able to add a la carte features for a small cost comes closer to what I would consider ideal - modular DAWs, where (for example) Studio Pro users could use Cubase's MIDI FX module, and Cubase users could use Studio Pro's Harmonic Editing module.

This is how it works in reaper with the SWS extension:
The moment you name a track (marker or region-marker), a certain color and track-icon would be assigned to that track following the list you created:

Here's a scheme I put together mostly by matching up the first letter of the instrument with first letter of a color.

Pianos - Pink
Percussion - Purple
Bass - Blue
Drums - Yellow, for the color of the cymbals
Busses - Black & White
Organ - Orange
Guitar - Green
Rhythm - Red
Strings - Brown, a tough one to get right, let alone make shades of

ike Main Vox could be one shade of green, and Hrmny Vox could be a different shade of green?
I do that sometimes for channels whose signals are derived from other channels, like in your Do Normal, Channel, and Frequency Splits without the Splitter on page 26 of your SO7 book. Looking forward to the next. - Stuart

Nice idea. Too bad they didn't show each of the colors on the interface. Makes it hard to tell what colors you have selected as your palette.
