Studio Pro 8 didn't port this...

This all began back when some guy made a scripted toolbar when nobody even knew that was possible in Studio One. Among other things, it added something useful that Studio One still doesn't have at version 8, a MIDI event list. He probably did some reverse engineering because there was not (and still is not) any widespread public information about their script interface.

I'm pretty sure the developers were aware of it because it was discussed all over the place, but still no event list in the product. Developers have their own priorities and without knowing or seeing the entire landscape of a business, we can't really judge those priorities.

All of that is just to say is we should be grateful that the original guy opened that door, and also that the company supports Lukas doing it officially. As far as I'm aware, he's literally the only authorized third party script developer.

100%

Let's always remember - the company could have easily shut the scripting door and said "pack sand" as well.

If the Fender development team were to implement these extensions it would expose the functionality to a wider Studio Pro audience rather than just those who frequent this forum.
I can only assume, but I think that the https://s1toolbox.com link pops up every now and then in any forum that discusses DAW’s.

The scripting thing is interesting. Paul Henty developed his own script for the Icon series of DAW controllers which allows a great deal of control that's not available through the Mackie protocol. I don't know whether he reverse engineered it or did it with PreSonus's blessing. Certainly, Icon themselves promote it on their website, though it's only available from Paul's website (and it works very well).

Just to let you know that Jeff has updated the colour toolbar to V3 2.4 to make it v8 compatible thanks
Thanks for the update, and thanks to Jeff for doing this. Makes a massive difference to quick comprehension of the UI for me.

Thanks for the heads-up. Installed!

That's especially nice of Jeff to do, given this statement on the Color Toolbar website:

- It has reached end‑of‑life and is provided solely on an as‑is basis, without warranty, updates, or support.
