Studio One Pro Update Releases?

Given the cost of similar doodads and the fact that it really does just this one thing - should be more like $49-$59 in 2025.

However - as it always the case - the market will ultimately decide if this is a good price (or not).

Especially for the US market with the "tariff" thing hanging over everyone down there.

Ahhh I see!

I was actually sorta surprised at how cheap it is? Is $119 expensive to be able to record on your phone? I’m so far removed from this but figured it would be $149+.
Here's my thoughts, I noted in another similar thread that my friends were pretty hot on the Katana Go Mini 2, and each bought them. It's a little bad-azz headphone amp for $139, equiped with the std Katana app that can be saved to, or retrieved from their popular Katana series amps (and store, and shareable) . I hear nothing quality wise, even remotely close with the Fender Studio (to be fair, from the really poor examples so far) which sounds like, well.... a cell phone app. Granted, each is a little different in design, but guitar quality sound is my guiding force. Yeah, yeah, its all opinion (they said), but actually it's also not. I'm pretty battle tested on what sounds good for guitar. ; ) Others can make up their own mind. I suspect it won't take long. 😛

Sorry, but my money is on the Katana Go mini 2. People may not like to hear that, and I wasn't really thrilled saying it. But in the end, the Lil Kat is very hot sounding, and also can be inserted direct via USB.

Totally. I very much don’t know anything about this area of equipment so this is all witchcraft to me. Thank you for taking the time to explain it.

Anytime, Ian.
To be fair users will follow their own needs. One warning is make sure the Katana Go Mini 2 has the "2", because its the updated version and also has a stage spacial effect with immersive 3D control.

As for any new Studio One Pro release, it will be if there are real fundamental DAW improvements, weather Presonus get my update $$ or not.

Most importantly, have fun!

As to who would use one of those little phone recorder thingies, at one point I was travelling about 1/3 of the year. I didn't want to carry a guitar with me, but the travel mostly involved music stores, schools, and consulting. In most cases, I was able to borrow a guitar for the night. I used the Line 6 mobile I/O setup for iOS, then added IK's stuff for Android.

It was wonderful to be able to play guitar into something that gave an amp sound while away from home.

Indeed Craig. Traveling light, and being able to get a good sound when inspiration comes knocking is wonderful. I have an IK Multimedia Irig Stage for acoustic guitar and its just nice to have around, and play direct and get a good sound.
Enjoy.

Time flies, and Presonus only has less than five months left. Can it regain the trust of users? Considering that Studio One is not compatible with old versions of project files, and facing the fierce temptation of Live 12 and Cubase 14, I feel a little panic and confusion. It is said that a new version is coming, will it be this week? After all, next week is June.

I have to say, if they really treat the integration of Fender Studio and Studio One as a major update, or release another instrument that is far inferior to a cheap third party plug-in, I promise I will badmouth Presonus to everyone. (#`皿´)

Speaking of temptation, i did move to Cubase 14 although this was out of necessity because of all the crashing issues i've been having with Studio One 7. I was spending more time troubleshooting than being able to do some actual work. It was planned to be a temporary switch until i see any future releases acknowledging potential fixes.

Currently, i'm pretty certain this switch is no longer temporary....

v7 opens ALL old versions of project files. Not sure where this is coming from.

Unfortuate that you did not bring some of these "crashes" to the forum before you switched.

Hard crashes are super rare in S1 and almost always have a specific culprit - which is easy to identify.

I did, infact a large portion of my posts here are regarding it.

We encourage Forum members who post issues to update their signature (see link and example in mine) to include their system specs as that really helps in identifying what may be causing problems. Screenshots, links to videos also help. Our Forum is blessed to have many experienced Studio One and IT users willing to help others!

Yes, sorry for my poor English, I didn't express it clearly. I mean, the file of 7 can't be opened by 6. I remember this reminder popping up every time I opened an old file.

That's actually a pretty usual behavior in software.

In this case, you can use Studio One Toolbox to convert Studio One songs to the previous version (v7 -> v6, v6 -> v5 etc.). Of course there's no guarantee that this will work successfully, depending on the v7 features used in the song.

Thank you for your solution. It would be great if this feature could be built-in. Speaking of built-in, I think of many posts on Studio One Pro Feature Requests, such as split to mono, OSC support, etc. I know things can't be done overnight, anyway, I hope Studio One will get better and better.
