Solved Studio One 7.2 - Issues with Duplicate Track, Remove Track and Undo

Please please, before you read anything else from anyone else... :D Please do this!!!

It would be interesting to check if the issue goes away after deleting this DLL from the application folder:
C:\Program Files\PreSonus\Studio One 7\Plugins\beatdetection.dll

Would you try that please?
Ari
It would seem that the issue has "gone away" with all my troubleshooting at this point, @Ari. But I will give removing the beat detection dll a go...

@freddiphin It's great that others are helping as well, but: Ari from the PreSonus software team has personally asked you for some very specific repros. It doesn’t make much sense to send things to support, where they might eventually reach the dev team through various detours - instead of sending them directly to him as requested here, so he can look into them right away.
Gotcha. I am completely new to this forum and have dealt only with Support directly in the past, so I will need to accustom myself to this protocol. I will send stuff to @Ari ...

....How can we attach files, zip or otherwise, to posts or direct messages here?
Due to attachment size and extension type limitations I'd recommend sharing a Dropbox (or similar) link to the files.

So, just to share: I have, indeed, gotten a response from Jonny at Support with the same suggestions as Ari and can now say,
Yes, deleting (moving out of the folder) the beatdetection.dll seems to have solved the issue.

(I'm curious: Is this meant to be a temporary workaround that otherwise renders this Beat Detection function inoperable without that dll??)

The audio files that caused the issue are from a much older EastWest sample library for which I have now only the simple sample files that I use occasionally.

In any case I have submitted the .song folder and sample folder in question to both (Support and Ari)

And... not that I mind at all the wonderful and immediate, multi-source help that this generated, but I am with this, perhaps, a little confused as to the appropriate support request protocol now. Are we to use this forum for that at this point?? Maybe there a post here on that somewhere?.... Not that I mind all the help! It just involves a lot more typing 😁

For bug reports, always use the official channels (-> tech support).

But if someone from development directly asks you for example files because they're already investigating, do it as requested ;-)

Thanks a lot Ari
I deleted the above mentioned file and replaced it with the "beatdetection.dll" from Studio One Version 7.1.1. Now the automatic tempo detection works also in 7.2. No errors so far.(y)

DUDE! That fixed the Detect Tempo crash for me as well! Thank you so much, @Ari

After a few issues where I had to close the session or Studio One completely, I figured out that my problem was whenever an audio file I dragged to the arranger from Windows Explorer had a tempo or not. Searched the forum to see if anyone else was experiencing the same thing!

Renamed the file to .dll.bak and can confirm it solved the issue.

Ditto.

Don't misunderstand - this is only a temporary solution so that you can continue working.
The issue with the .dll file will of course be worked on and fixed in a future release.

Thank you for your understanding and patience! 🤘

Completely understandable, but I'd rather live without tempo detection than have the issue for however long it takes so all good :D
