Studio One 7.2.3 - Discussion Thread

I thought I'd pop in to see what's new in the 7.2.3 scheme of things. Great, got my answer on the early stages of page one of this thread. Thank you, guys! Love the present state of this DAW!

With that, I see a further means of some using even this thread as another way to rant about what Presonus should be doing, what isn't professional and well, you know the rest.
Anyway, have fun all!
Peace, love and happiness

Exactly.

Would have loved things to stay focused squarely on v7.2.3 - but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

Hoping that this thread does not get closed out like all the others have when some folks start ranting about company policies....

7.2.3 seems to be working perfectly for me so far - though I've kept the 7.2.2 installer on my system just in case, as that was rock solid for me.

Yeah, I thought I'd quit right where I did because I'm likely the one to ring the thread will soon close bell, not long after I truly speak my mind. 🤪

Thanks for digging in with the common sense, VP.
Many of us have to alternate at times to stave off the onslaught.

Yep - same here. Seems more solid too honestly. I honestly thought the grid lines appeared sharper to me when I opened a project I was working on in 7.2.2 previously. Maybe psychological, heightened by the new point release. I haven't done a like for like comparison. It's definitely not a revolution but maybe an evolution? In any case, thanks to Presonus. Nice.

Releases focused on bug fixes and stability before adding new features benefits us all.

Having a weird grouping issue I ran into this morning. I'm going to try to hash it out. Effectively it is this;

(Assume group members are named with a letter for the example.)

If I create a group (ONE) that contains tracks - A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H - a second group (TWO) that contains - A,B,C,D,E,F,G - and a third group (THREE) that contains -B,C,D,E,F,G,H-, certain tracks end up being, well, ungroupable in group TWO and THREE. Meaning I can select the tracks to add to the group and hit Command+G but they do not end up in the second or third group for editing. If I turn group ONE on, everything will function as anticipated.

I have about thirty minutes of automation left on this project so I will let you know if I am forgetting something from previous versions, but I feel like I've always done it this way (multi grouping the same channels) and it has worked fine.

100% agree. Not sure why some people think this is "unprofessional" when in reality it is the exact opposite. Imagine what would happen if a company were to announce what features were coming in the next version and one of two things (or both) happened...
Yeah, look at what happened to Acorn back in the day :)
