Native Instruments sold.....

Yes, I installed 2.1.2 on my S88 Mk 3 a few days ago. I now have fine control on the encoders (with the Shift key pressed). That, as far as I'm aware, is the only 'meaningful' update for FSP8 users. I note that my P-1M had fine control available before the Windows 11 MIDI 2.0 update.

Glad to hear it's all working (at least in it's basic way).

Still staring at my new S61 S-Series MKIII over there in the corner - hoping that SP8 finally makes the move to support the v2 Firmware.

But I will be finally moving to Windows 11 in July - so the MKIII will take it's place as the new controller at that time - regardless of what Fender decides to do...tick tick tick...

Common guys, I'm 76. Agent Orange took the nerves (large fiber neuropathy), genetic knees problems, 11 cancers (again Dr. thinks agent orange), and my 82 year old friend and I are going into the Southwest trying to finish a documentary on SW venomous snakes, spiders, & Scorpions. I love to make music for my videos and stills (53 TB of images/videos online). I've been retired since I sold a business 21 years ago and I still haven't done enough fun stuff. How much effort (I have both ILok and Kontakt based vst's just in case) does it take to do music. Just make sure your not totally tied to one eco system. I say let them take my cameras or key boards from my cold, hands. Live while you can.
I'm really happy for you, Brother. Keep on with it and thank you for your service to our country. For me, as far as the music thing is concerned, I have so many products between NI and Izotope. I use at least one of them in almost every project I do. My short term memory is such that I can't do another learning curve. That's one of the reasons I'm sticking with Studio One and not moving to the Fender thing. I'm sure the Fender DAW is wonderful and I might be missing out on a lot but I'm comfortable with what I currently have.

Yes, I think the fine control is the only MIDI 2.0 feature enabled by the firmware update that actually does anything in FSP8. And I have my doubts now that Fender have any intention of enabling the changes that NI instigated with the v2.X firmware (which are a bit of a game changer in Cubase and other compatible DAWs, particularly if your keyboard is a little way from your computer).

I’ve had no issues with Windows 11 since I changed sometime in 2024. However, the MIDI 2.0 update that was very recently put out has broken some MIDI 1.0 connections for some people/hardware/apps. The only one I’ve noticed is the SlideShowFX StreamDeck profile, but I’m sure there are others.

Thanks for the field "intel" :). Yeah - I have been testing Windows 11 for a long while now and will keep an eye on these new MIDI stacks.

This build will be a bare metal install - so I will be able to ensure everything is fully operational - one step at a time.

Here is a link to the full information. Short version: inMusic Brands, the US-based owner of Akai, Moog, Denon, Numark, Rane, and M-Audio, announced today that it will acquire Native Instruments. That puts NI tools like Traktor and Kontakt under the inMusic umbrella along with Plugin Alliance, iZotope, and Brainworx.
Looks like Izotope have had a change of heart, wonder what's going on...?

Kindest regards

I suspect a three-way deal was done (maybe more - we haven’t heard about the other Francisco buys that were lumped on NI’s ledger) that helped reduce NI’s debt burden and cleared the decks a little more. I’m glad I kept my Portal going - the integration with Native Access was nice but took so long to become applicable to all iZotope products. I wonder when it’ll be removed?

It's all a bit musical chairs, the iZotope web site has yet to catch up if the NI Access is being ditched... The iZotope Faq page is still citing NI Access.
Maybe the dust has to settle before anything becomes clear?

This will take months to filter through correctly. NI has already confirmed that they will begin issuing comms as soon as it becomes relevant.

For now - we all just need to keep on keeping on when it comes to our iZotope stuff..
