if I pay to upgrade from v6 to FPS8 -- can I still get a copy of v7.2.3?

there's a bunch of bug fixes that by v7.2.3 were fixed (some of them i posted on this site some months ago)

the upgrade to fps8 is about 100$ CAD for me, which im okay doing but i would really like to go to v7.2.3 first as it seems, it could be more stable than v8?

some of the issues i encountered in v6, seems they are addressed in the various v7 release notes:
- bounce to new selection - misses pan automation
- bounce to new selection treats audio vs midi tracks differently
- transform to rendered audio converts mono tracks to stereo, misses pan automation (fixed in v7?)
- 'phase coherent multitrack quantization' does not work
- folder track presets do not load correctly if the folder contains disabled tracks. the plugins lose state/if you try to disable the plugin it crashes studio one.
- mixdown selection or ghost record does not null with the parent bus (first time i noticed this was few days ago, i have not posted about it)

Unfortunately, by upgrading to version 8 you won't get access to 7.2.3.

But all major issues with v8 will be fixed with the next maintenance release. I had no single crash with v8 so I'd consider it very stable.

hi Lukas, thanks for responding.

any ideas when the next maintenance release could be? i have some very big sessions (upwards of 300+ tracks), with lots of automation going on.

its really important that bouncing/rendering files and automation is not missed

are you able to confirm if these things are stable in v8?

i really don't wanna be QA for presonus (unless they wanna pay me! :). i lost many hours in v6 because of certain features (as described above) not working as they should --- eventually i found workarounds, but, i would like to avoid repeating this with v8.

thank you

P.S. are you on W11 or W10? I'm on W10.

You will have to read through the 26 or so pages of the Threads here denoted as specific to the Studio Pro topic.
I think just about all your questions should be answered within.

My personal experience is that this is simply an update. I’ve had A couple of crashes which I can’t recall why.

This is why you should continue to do important work in a prior stable version and come back to v8 when it firms up.

For me - that is always the x.0.2 release

Your big sessions should not be going into v8.0.0 straight away - almost a guarantee that you will hit some roadblocks.

W10 and macOS. W10 isn't supported officially, but it should work fine.

Soon - not allowed to give any further details, sorry. But Fender is aware that a fix is needed for the automation rendering issue.

Correction. Windows 10 is fully supported if one is enrolled in the ESU program:
