How to get chords to not change when Alt-copying?

I'm at a loss. I created four chords on a guitar track but didn't quite like them so I modified them by dragging them to the chord track, and edited those chords so that it sounded good to my ears. So then I dragged those chords (with or without the chord track) so that they play twice but no matter what I do the copied chords shift back to their original positions. How do I freeze what I created so that so that the copy or Alt-copy is the same?

In the track inspector there is a check box for <follow chords>. Try unticking that.

If you want to keep the altered chords, you must bounce them or use “transform to rendered audio”. If you just want to stick with the original, then the suggestion from @OutrageProductions is the way to go.

For MIDI there’s another option from the event’s context menu: “Musical Functions -> Freeze Pitch”

Thank you Crossinger!! Freeze Pitch is exactly what I was looking for!!!
