How to find music loops?

How can I find music loops in the loops library? It seems that the search function doesn't work and there is no category for music loops. I would like to have them in one place.

You're right, there is no category for musicloops. Searching for "*.musicloop" in the Files tab isn't possible either. I hope that this can be addressed in an upcoming feature update.

What you could do is using the "Construction Kits" tag for the search. Depending on the Sound Sets you have installed, it shows a lot of musicloops - but unfortunately, not only musicloops, also audioloops (and some few WAV files).

So I can't offer a good workaround right now. If you have a folder of musicloops in the Files, you can store this folder as a root tab in the Browser. But I'm aware that that's not what you asked Maybe still helpful at some point.

Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately the .musicloops files even can't be located in the filesystem, because they are hidden in soundsets. So, there seems to be no way to build a folder or a tab for the inbuild musicloop.

I wouldn't have mentioned it if it were not possible It's one of the nice advantages of the Files tab: it can open Sound Sets as if they were physical folders in your file system.

You can view all the Sound Sets, expand them and browse the content.

That's great. I didn't know that. But it's not completely the solution for my problem. I have to browse through all the soundsets and look for musicloops. That's a bit laborious. Is there any way to get all the musicloops in one folder or under a tab?

Yes - as I said, there's not really a good workaround for that, unfortunately. It's something that the Studio Pro team will have to add as part of a browser feature update.

I dont use loops, but since samples and loops are all sort of strewn together, you might want to use tags or basically search in the search field.

Lukas' solution is quite good for the current state of where those loops and samples reside.

Consider, the variety of samples and loops are for most every imaginable genre, style, and specific need. That could be a jazz flavor, to an EDM sequence, to a country jingle. So how Fender would divide that up would only (as I see it) convolute the library even further. Its done to some basic degree as Likas displayed. You can (and probably should) create your own tags names, or prepare on a spreadsheet or some means of helping in that effort. Of course, these are purely suggestions. I just find searching in a whole junk bin, produces really good and unexpected result. That along with the many not so good hits. But there ya go. What's bad for some can be great for others.

I havent come across laborious yet with Studio One or Studio Pro, but hey, others mileage may vary (OMMV). No need to browse through all soundsets. Let search assist you.
