Have You Checked Out the Pedal Effects in Mustang Native?

There are a ton of them, and some of them are really good. For example, the Chromatic Pitch Shifter sounds better than the one in the High-Density Pack. There are multiple delays and reverbs, harmonic tremolo, etc. etc. These aren't for guitar only, so don't sleep on these.

When you rotate the carousel of effects you can hear what they do, which is helpful.

I haven't checked them all out yet, but have already found some favorites. Anyone have any favorites they're using?

To be honest, I have not. I tend to have a real good idea of what I want based on known quantities, but it did bring up a question I was somewhat researching.

I've been looking into the Fender Tonemaster Pro do-all-end-all multi-effects board for live use. I currently have (among other things) a Boss GX100 that is fine for some things but doesn't get close (for me) to cutting it for live AND recording purposes. Does Studio Pro have the capability to 'see' a Tonemaster Pro board (or a Mustang for that matter) as a VST effect, with storable information ready to be taken to the stage when necessary?

Right, Joe's video on the unit was good until I found out the cost. I said Wow too with several other
choice adjectives...I was not even ready for the price tag on that. Would or could it be handy? Sure, of
course it "could be" I just can't justify the cost for the convenience of this device. If it was in the 300.00
range I might consider it 🎸 🖖

Peace To All

It is pretty pricey, but...sometimes that price is worth the time and effort when the artist who hired you to do the recording also hires you to do artist support/live work, and gets pretty peculiar about matching the recorded guitar sounds.

Hey...its happened within the past year a couple of times - but at my age (and in my checkbook's defense,) I don't foresee it happening too many more times.

I understand. You gotta' do what you gotta' do. Cost of doing business. It would be a toy for me. I've had other similar hardware in the past, but ultimately the shine faded.

Who knows? This might be the next best thing!

Yeah, I just got a Yamaha SX 720. Is it worth the steep price tag? Don't really know yet but I can say it is quite
the machine. So far I am gonna say "Yes" well worth the bucks. After some point my opinion may change.
I just hope the 720 keeps me Inspired like it is so far 🎹 🖖

You only find out over time whether steep price tags were worth it. When the Helix was introduced, at $1500 it was pretty pricey. But, I've gotten 10 years' use out of it, multiband processing, Helix Native as a plug-in, and IIRC 18 firmware updates. If it had been a subscription, it would have been $11 a month :ROFLMAO: Haven't had a chance to check out the Tonemaster, but it's intriguing.

Yep, I still remember my "Blimey" reaction to the Helix price. I prefer to spent my very finite funds on other toys!

I used to think 'cost' and 'value' were somewhat synonymous...but as time went on, discovered that sometimes they are worlds apart. I've got (for this discussion) things that cost comparatively very little, but have tremendous value to what I ( try to) do. Conversely, I've got some things that were fairly expensive to me, but in application turned out to be, well, not as much of a value as I thought.

The cost not equalling value debacle never rang truer than when I bought a ProTools Mix+/Mac G4 system with 2 888s and an ADAT bridge. Now, the G4 is in a landfill and the Digi stuff sits rusting away in a shed...when I think the cost of it all, it still hurt my teeth.
