Harmony Wizard loads (seemingly) but simply doesn't activate or work

Lukas, I hope you had a nice weekend and here is a quick update (as always, thanks for your devoting to working on this :)):

I tried reinstalling FSP as suggested, and initially made the unknowing mistake of loading a backup EXE file that was ver. 8.0 (over my 8.1.1), which resulted in a "Scripting Error" box re: my AtomSQ and an immediate and complete shutdown of FSP. "What did I just do"? :D I figured out the mistake, reloaded 8.1.1 and the scripting error disappeared. I then tried activating HW, no luck; tried uninstalling/reinstalling, and same.

I then wondered if I should uninstall HW from the old studio computer (just a thought :)) which I did while connected to the internet just in case, but attempts to activate/reinstall, etc. on the new machine failed. Well it seemed like a clever idea.

I took a photo of the failed activation as requested (attached), but didn't have your message in front of me re: having both the FSP Activation box and the failure box in the same photo -- I took your website's screen saying it's activated with the failure box overlaid.* Hopefully that helps Fender.

In the meantime, though, re: your comment of being out of ideas, I had one other -- can we essentially cancel my prior purchase (or just ignore it), and I'll again uninstall, and then you can create a new HW plugin for me. If that one fails, then there definitely is a problem on Fender's end. Just a thought.

Thanks for your help.

Steve

*The thumbnail doesn't show the white failure box and hopefully that's just because the screengrab is a bit wide. If it's a problem I can email the JPG.

Follow-up: After reading Mark T's similar problem, which he fixed by switching from Safari to Firefox (I was using Firefox without success) I thought I'd try Edge, but had the same problems. I guess my option at this point (unless my offer in the post above about a replacement plugin is acceptable) is to send Fender all the info and photos and see if this problem can be fixed. Very disappointing so far (not Lukas' work, which has been exemplary, just the ongoing issue :))

[FURTHER UPDATE] I contacted Fender Support, described the issue and provided the link to this thread (and some photos) and simply got back a terse "we don't support 3rd-party Extensions" message -- quite disappointing situation overall, especially since HW is an amazing product; thanks to Lukas for the work he does here for the FSP users.

I reached out to the developer on Monday, but I haven’t received a response yet.

Mark T's problem was different, but in this case sending the correct data from the browser to FSP doesn't seem to be the problem.

The support agent is correct that they don’t support the functionality of my extensions themselves. That’s what this forum is for. The activation routine, however, is FSP’s responsibility, so it’s something they have to support. No one else can do anything about it - including me.

I assumed you were the developer :) -- your videos demonstrate such a first-hand knowledge of HW.

Yet they seemed most uninterested looking into the Activation issue; and I have no leverage with them.

If the Developer has no further ideas, what do you think of my proposal to cancel the existing HW plugin and issue a new one? As I've already paid it technically isn't free... (I always taught my kids "they can only say no, but if you never ask..." :)); and I understand if that's not a viable option.

Thanks again for continuing to engage on this thread.

I am the developer of HW :-) I reached out to the developer of Fender Studio Pro (CTO PreSonus Software).

It would be an option for sure. I'm still on the road but happy to try that once I'm back home.

Apologies for mistaking the "developer" part :) (I was surprised initially, thinking "how can he know this much about HW and someone else developed it!). Thanks for reaching out to the FSP developer; that's above and beyond, and much appreciated.

And since you're still traveling, no need at all to deal with this until you get back. I assumed (again, incorrectly :)) when you wrote ~10 days ago that you were on the road, that it was a weekend trip. Enjoy your trip, and let's get back in touch when you return. Have a great time.

Steve
