Fender Studio Pro 8.0.1 - Discussion Thread

Speaking of track icons, when will they either give us a ton more options or allow us to create our own? I need more... and color coded lol.
Would be nice and asked for a lot. I'm quite surprised it isn't available to prepare such icons/templates, share them with the group, and insert them as users need. Then again, I'll probably eat my words when this is available in v8.5, and we still don't see the really necessary things we all really want. 😔

What could be more necessary than better track icons? :)

Lukas, you're a clever fellow, can you create an add-on for custom track icons?

I'd really like a Les Paul or ES-335 icon in the guitar section, but I'm gonna guess that won't be a top priority!

The trial version will be available in a few weeks.
Just curious but what's the reasoning behind this?

When version 7 was released (splice integration, stem separation, etc.) there was a massive surge of interest from potential new customers. And then they couldn't trial it.

Feels rather like a missed opportunity for winning new customers?

Just a guess... licencing stuff and server capacitiy. Maybe they want to have the actual customers on track before they open up the trials.

They pretty much always wait for the first major point release before they release a demo. That makes sense because by then the worst bugs will be ironed out.

As I said earlier (I think) if you want an easier ride don't upgrade until after the first major point release, and when you do that install the previous version, and that's probably what they are doing when releasing a demo.

When the demo comes out either a major point will have been released, or the next release will be a major point release (let's find out if I'm wrong this time).

Can't believe that movement of the playhead is still far from optimal when using hardware (Atom SQ for example):

I am reaching out because I am experiencing an issue with V8 within the browser file section. My workflow involves getting a 32-channel WAV files recorded directly on a SD card from a digital mixer.

In version 7, I would right-click on the file in the browser/Files section and select the "Split to mono files" option. This split the 32 multi-channel wave file into 32 individual mono wave files that I could easily drag into Studio Pro. However, in version 8, the entire program locks up as soon as I right-click on a wave file. When this occurs, I am unable to perform any actions in the software and must use the task manager to end the task and restart the program. This is reproducible and has happened every time I try to split into mono files.

Fortunately, I did not delete version 7, so I am still using that version to split my files to mono then loading version 8 to work. I would appreciate knowing if anyone else is experiencing this issue with version 8 or if there is a known fix or workaround (better than having to load the old version) available. Thanks in advance for any info.

Window resizing with plugin across multi-monitor bug, not a biggy but should still be fixed
