Interesting

And we already have a new sub forum for it 🥳

Thanks, Ari. For many, it sounds like the Fender Studio App could be useful on the go. I was preparing to purchase the Katana Mini 2, which has been selling big. Two of my friends purchased it and have been thrilled over its std. Katana-like interface, and it sounds pretty darn remarkable. Still, this direction is probably a good move for Fender, only the app (hardware depending) may have some shortcomings, I dont know.
I guess a lot has to do with the interface quality in which one connects to that app. I don't think I'll be purchasing the Fender Studio, because I don't see enough there. ...... yet.
Thanks for the heads up, though. 👍

Fender Studio is a FREE app.
I can see interest for users with portable devices that welcome having a free stripped down version of Studio One.
I downloaded and installed the Windows version and have it working with my PreSonus Revelator io44 audio interface.

Upon further thoughts, its a good move, both the app, and the Fender interface for it. At least for a good number of people. The thought being one could sit on their couch and bang out a few ideas while they're strumming. Inspiration strikes and they can add those few tracks. Perhaps they're jamming to some music off of YT, or a song they've been working on. The moment is then captured. Those moments can even be magical. Delay, and you pay. Or even if its just practicing to some sound loops. I think I was being a little too hard on the idea, because I was comparing the Katana Go (similar interface that competes with the Fender Mustang headphone guitar amp). That's not a fair head to head comparison as each device and app have their advantages.
So going forward, I'm seeing the usage of the Fender Studio. It's really just something for Fender's guitar fan base. And Presonus gets in on some of that action. Treating it that way, makes it an ok adventure for some, I guess. I'll leave it at that.
........ that's said, I did buy the Katana Go v2 today. Sound accounts for something.

I really liked the fender tonemaster pro algorithms there. I guess we should see some Ampire update on S1 pretty soon, right?

I'd venture to say its likely. Or, perhaps some of the same presets and new iteration of that Fender package available for Studio One. Either way, its somewhat of a win for guitarists using Studio One. Somewhat because I haven't heard that killer patch yet. But hey, who's counting? 😛

Yes, thanks for mentioning (as with Lukas) its free with no strings attached).

Same here Trucky. At one point I read at around the time of release that the Fender Link IO, or perhaps Mustang were required as the interface. I see that is not the case, so I loaded the free App. Now, I'll just need to see how to provide a guitar interface for it and have the app see that hardware. Register the app and so on.

Did you connect the io44 to your phone/tablet/whichever, by way of USB for the app to see your interface?

I'd like to try two possibilities going forward.
First, using my Audient iD14 mkII via USB-C to my Android phone. Hoping the driver is seen that way. Ill update the latest driver as well.

The second option which may prove even way more portable is to use my Katana Go 2, by either USB, or Bluetooth. That would be a fantastic way to track parts on the go for some future travels I am taking. Then return, and forward my tracks to Studio One. Sounds like a new song & video showing the process!

Months later I realised I have not used it at all after the first few days of playing with it so I've uninstalled it. It's a harsh life in the overcrowded jungle of iPad apps...

That's me to a "T". I haven't discounted uninstalling might still happen. But my thought process is, I'll be traveling. Take the Yamaha Silent guitar (it breaks down). Have the Katana Go 2 attached. It has both a USB, and Bluetooth. Track a few nice parts for later use. I dont care about the Fender Link IO or it's on board fx, because the Katana Go has them. I'd likely leave reverb dry as that's never good to include and be printed too wet.
The beauty is, I dont have to open the laptop to create.

The down side is, ehm....ehr.... I could just open the laptop right from the start and create.

It's kind of an ambitious thought to see if it gets off of the ground.

Something on the order of what Kurt Vonnegut Jr once said, “We have to continually be jumping off of cliffs and developing our wings on the way down.”
😃

I used to cart around the iPad, a Korg nanoKey studio, a field recorder, a mic, a bunch of cables/adapters and a cheap iPad audio interface but I eventually realised that I much preferred dealing with the field recordings once I was back home at the PC and that mobile music was easier made in Korg Gadget or in Drambo. The latter took me a good while to suss out but once I found the clip launcher/sequencer thing I was snared. Little piano roll snippets stitched together in real time or otherwise. I can't claim to have written any world class tunes on the iPad but I have come up with many song starters, snippets and plenty of clichéd stuff that was just fun to mess with. I've still got stuff to "process" from a coastal trip back in June. Never enough time....

Cool. Yeah, its always touch and go weather something will be usable, when field testing!
: )
Some of the settings on my Katana Go 2 and the Yamaha Nylon SLG200N are really great sounding. There's an ambient setting from the Katana that has a really lush reverb. The trick would be to record a dry track, while monitoring a send, or parallel tracking so that the reverb is heard giving that sweet beautiful reverb to feed off of (the inspiring moment). Then use the dry track to build onto, later (the product).
Good stuff.

I already have Studio One Pro, so I installed the native ARM version on my new Surface Pro 11 Snapdragon Elite X. Since very few of the 1100 plugins I have installed on my main DAW have a native ARM version, I need the plugins that come with SO Pro.

Is the free Fender DAW available in a native ARM version? If so, what plugins are included for instruments and effects?
