Console view frustration

I wish there was a way to freeze the console view so that the plugins and sends section do not move automatically. Id like to set it the way I want it and it stay that way from one session to another until I choose to adjust it how I need it. Has anyone else brought this up or am I the only one who is frustrated by it?
 
Can you do a brief vid to show the movement you want to stop?
 
I don't really have a way to do that. But it's not a major problem. You can grab the sends section line and it limes up automatic but if i open the folder then I have to readjust again. Or, when you add a plugin. Also, when I open the session the console view has to be readjusted. I would like to have a lock setting for it.
 
OK, sounds like Insert/Send alignment/size is what you're referring to. Long standing annoyance ...
 
Indeed...many folks have asked for static send and insert positions so (example) each channel would always have permanent insert and/or slots, like a hardware console or (gasp) ProTools.

To date - there is no such thing as a perfect DAW - choices are often made on which one forces users to make the least amount of compromises.

As to the movement of the inserts and sends, they cant be locked down. This has been an ongoing weirdness with Studio One version 1, out of the gate.

As the plugins vary, it tends to also upset those borders as well.

Related to the OP, before FSP you could place sends anywhere you wanted (vertically) on a per-channel basis. This was particularly useful in short mode. Now they all snap to the same horizontal plane, whether you want them to be or not. Of course, that's not a deal-breaker, but I tend to think updates shouldn't reduce configurability options.
 
When you get a chance, Ken, please list your specs in your signature so that we know what version of Studio One you're using. Specify the platform and audio interface you are using. It will then stay in your sig for future reference, and helps us know what it is you're using.
