Solved Cannot preview or download any jam files...

When Fender Studio first came out, I downloaded and tried it briefly. I downloaded a jam track and thought it was great.

I finally picked up a Fender IO and thought I'd have some fun jamming with some of the other tracks, but can't download (or even preview) them.

Not sure if Fender's service is just down or something else.... any ideas?

The Fender Studio Jam service is working for me when I try it...

On an iPad?

I tested it on both my iPad (9th gen) and PC (Windows 11 24H2).

Check your app permissions to make sure Fender Studio has access.
What generation iPad do you have?
Does it have a Lightning or USB-C connection?

It's the latest model with USB C.

I'll try rebooting it, must be something OS related (I was able to download in the past).

Thanks for checking!

Is "Settings=>Privacy & Security=>Microphone=>Fender Studio" enabled?

Well this remains a puzzle.

I've:

- rebooted iPad
- checked permissions (microphone, files etc.)
- checked internet connection
- checked for new app version

It's strange that I can't even preview a jam file. When I tap on the play button, just like when I tap on the download button, it registers my tap (i.e. GUI changes) but then everything just stops a second later and GUI reverts as if I never attempted it. No error message (naughty programmers!)

The Windows version works just fine for me.

I wonder if it's possible to copy over the files from the Windows version... (whether in jamtrack format or the 'session' format (the latter seems to be created from the former).

Are you able to play or download jam songs without the I/O Link?

Any firewall running on the iPad or your network?

Yes, microphone is enabled.

No firewall on iPad or network.

Have you tried listening to the jam demos without the I/O Link?

Not sure what's unique to your setup but I'm not having any issues using the Jam feature with my Windows PC, iPad or iPhone.

Well I've gotten past it.

Yesterday I tried my iPhone and could preview and download jam files with no issues.

I then tried my iPad again and could preview the songs (progress?) but still no download.

In the evening, at a different location I tried again and *could* download the songs. I downloaded a few.

Just now, back at home, I tried again and had no problem here either.

Weirdness! But it's resolved....
