Looking to the future...if the forum ends up with too many people and starts attracting spammers and internet tough guys, may I suggest you introduce a monthly 1 Euro subscription. Paying it would allow posting. But people could lurk for free, so that everyone could still access all the great information. Just a thought.
Thanks so much for your support Craig!

In my opinion, turning the forum into a subscription would be a very unwise move, especially at a time when so many people are ranting against subscriptions or have reservations about them. It's not something we're considering for the time being (I'm not a fan of subscriptions myself).

If we find that trolls and spammers are becoming a problem, we can consider what measures to take, such as only allowing confirmed Studio One users to post. But this needs careful consideration. Apart from that we have a team of great moderators who keep a close eye on the forum. In any case, we want the forum to be (and remain) a constructive place (centred around Studio One and PreSonus products).

(First) donation made - really hope it helps

Agreed, now is not the time, nor is it necessary. My comment is based on running forums since 1995, and often, a forum eventually gets to the point where it becomes unmanageable, even with multiple excellent moderators. When it has that many people, it also becomes a huge target for spammers. So I'm mostly thinking of something to consider for the future if it's needed. For now, probably like most people I'm just as happy to throw some money your way from time to time instead of having to do a subscription!

Yes, I fully agree with that. If there are problems with this (the point will come at some point), we will try to take measures in good time. Fortunately, this forum software has some clever mechanisms and also ways to quickly shut down accounts or disable registrations.

I'd like to make a contribution now but as an American I'm confused because all I see on the Donate page is Euros. What is the Euros to dollars conversion? Also, I want to avoid using Paypal if possible and when I click on" Donate using Credit Card" it seems to go to a Paypal page. Sorry if I'm being a PITA. I just want to do this right.

Thanks

:) John B

I'm also in the US ... IIRC, the conversion amount was shown during the process. No need to do the math in advance.

Just donated. Thanks Lucas and crew!!

Just donated. Hope this helps keep it going in some small way. The speed that this was set up is amazing! Thanks from across the pond.

Are you people who contributed seeing the contribution showing up on your credit cards or statements? I sent mine several days ago and do not see it on my CC statement yet.

Just want to make sure you're getting my funds.

I did get a PayPal receipt.

Saw mine almost immediately. US

Didn't want to mention it here but we didn't see a donation the day you posted here in this thread (on Monday). So perhaps you started the process but did not complete it.
So sorry about that. I'll try again.
:)

I think it went through this time. Saw it on the CC statement.
