Thanks for the info I’m aware of the recommended OS but I was hoping it might install and run even without official support. I have quite a few software that is not officially supported, but stills runs fine, however some will not even install. I’ll happily stay at V7 rather rather than upgrade my OS and foobar my perfectly running M1 Pro that still works amazingly well with all my FireWire devices.
Well - unless you can find someone who has tried it - no one would know.
Doubtful that anyone round these parts would be running Monterey now.
It’s a gamble that only you can make.
I can tell you on Windows - if I try to install v8 against - say Windows 10 21H2 for example - the installer tells me straight up that I cannot proceed.
Not sure if that is the case for Mac but I think I have read somewhere that this is similar
I have a MBP with Monterey on it so I gave it a go - and it won't work. You can download the install file, and it will install. But it won't run; it comes up with a message that it needs a minimum of MacOS 13.5 to run. Studio One 7.2.3 runs fine, however.
Thanks so much for your time and help…….i might try to upgrade my OS to Sierra, as I understand it that is the last OS that will support FireWire. This is for my mobile system that is flawless with 24 channels of RME FireWire.
