Why is this forum even called Studio One User Forum?

There absolutely is Studio One still. Version 7.2.3. It's really good. It hasn't disappeared into thin air. Lots of people will keep using it for many years. New things aren't the only things that exist.
And there are plenty of members still using versions 4, 5 and 6!

What kind of question is that? It’s called Studio One User Forum because we created it over a year ago - and there are still hundreds of thousands of Studio One users..

That tells you that someone involved in this forum had prior knowledge. Not really a surprise and not a bad thing either. :)
Yes... Ari is a QA Specialist @ Studio One/Studio Pro development team, I'm a freelance product specialist and part-time Studio One/Studio Pro project manager and developer. So… 🙃

I own licenses for 2,3,4 and 6. Obviously, my OP was misunderstood and/or taken out of context.
Some of us feel abandoned by the recent changes. While some of us, (you know who you are), have
signed a new NDA with Fender. I suppose my mistake was the title of this thread. Yes, old versions
of Studio One still exist but, apparently, PRESONUS does not. FENDER has has put its name all over
the brand and virtually erased it. Brings to mind the all the re-branding going on in this nation's capitol.
Congratulations to all of you newly minted FENDER employees.

It's correct that some guys have signed an NDA. That is a normal process during a developement phase.
PreSonus is not about to be ereased. You can check any musicians shop now and the next months and years.

Would you reveal who you are? You can also do that via private message.

I will gladly pass on the congratulations to the new Fender employees.

Lokey. You do know what happened today - right ? :)

Hey Veep, OK, got it now. Just read the news from Ari's initial post on the thread he started. I'm so far out of the loop right now, but the process seems.... ehm... interesting.

From reading what is new, I'll remain kind and treat the new "goods" as if this were a Presonus new release. I'll wait in the weeds for now and glance at a few things I've always hoped would be implemented.

We can meet back on the launcher (and other) items we last spoke on. Not seeing launcher development bulleted is not giving me a warm and cozy.

Until then, I feel the people here make this an awesome forum. A Studio One, forum. 👍
Thank you for steering me into the news, brother. Appreciated.

(whisper) psssst, between you and I, the self indulgent "Fender Pro 8" name doesn't sit well with me. It's like Avid Pro Tools 2025.12 became Procter & Gamble 2026.01. The name tends to lose its footing.

Keep in mind, this support forum is UNOFFICIAL.

That supposedly limits the amount of corporate steering Fender is able to do with enforcing naming conventions etc.

Zero work on the Launcher that I can see. Warm and fuzzy does not even come close to describing it.

Seeing the few promo and intro vids to this new version (for some reason I'm refusing to call it by its name), I'm not going to upgrade. I've weighed the features, I wasn't asking for a different look (or the Fender audience its catered to). Quite honestly, I'll stay on the side of Presonus for a while. Keeping my Fender items to vintage guitars and amps.
I just feel, when one peels away the wraps, there isn't much that is effectively an improvement. A new reverb? LOL, show it to the newcomers.
I recently said the ball was in their court. I'm still waiting for the return. Not some volley.
You get my point.
In one sentence, I'm not a fan of this direction. I'll try and remain open about it.

As a guitar player - I do see the value in the new sims and a few other things in v8 (Arrangement View and that snazzy new plugin overview panel) and was thrilled to see the upgrade price drop by a third - so I did upgrade.

However - I will not be installing v8 until I see - exactly - where we are going.

2026 is a DAW transition year over here. Not only do I need to finally get over to Windows 11 - the real big one for me right now is my transition to a new Native Instruments S61MKIII - which is a non-starter until Fendersonus can show me they are going to support the new MKIII v2 firmware.

These two pieces are so huge that it makes no sense for me to do anything at all until a path is clear. If this means holding out until years end - I will do so.

Of course - I am hedging that my (reasonable) upgrade fee (and renewed annual updates plan) will bear fruit sometime before Jan 12, 2027 and provide a path for me to get a refreshed DAW sometime in 2026. But there is also a chance that none of this happens.

If that is the case - I am OK with the update spend - and it is v7.2.3 until I either succeed or fail.

If it's a fail - I will give you an overview on next steps at that time.
