Why is the provided symphony violins so bad?

I was just playing today and compared: Joshus Bell, Opus single, Garritan (had it a long time), and the included symphony violins? Ok, JB on sale was about $125 and is normally $200, but I've yet to find a better violin VST. Opus "single violin" - really good, heck even the Garritan PO violins are significantly better. I guess it at least allows someone to compose, but I don't think they will ever make it "useful". BTW 5 years ago when I changed DAWs I bought the Fender/Presonus orchestra for $100.

KONTAKT Lib (Best for me)
Audio pro - LA Scoring Strings
Strezov Sampling - Afflatus Strings
SonuScore - Orchestra Complete 4

Well, PSO (PreSonus Symphonic Orchestra) is a 10-year-old library, and the samples are probably even older. It’s affordable, you get a nice package covering all the important parts of the orchestra including some additional percussion, choir and orchestral FX and you also get around 30 orchestral construction kits in Studio One’s Musicloop format.

I’m biased because I produced the construction kits, but I think there’s still a place for PSO (PreSonus Symphonic Orchestra) - just not necessarily if classical or film/game scoring is your main focus.

Then you should try Sonuscore LUX Orchestral Strings :)

Lucas, your stuff is always good. That being said for now (due to SSD space) I use all the EW strings stuff in Opus and Fantasy, EW Strings 2, the new stuff in TOC4, and Joshua Bell (best single violin even if you have to be a programmer to understand how to use it):).

I'm guessing you overcome the challenges with mk3 versions of popular and otherwise well-received keyboard controllers not playing nice with S1/FSP by avoiding them altogether? Or is it you haven't found a keybed you like more than the Nord?
