Where to get release notes of the newest Studio One version?

Hello,

I have Studio One 7.2.3. Because my Pro+ subscription ended on December 13th, I won't get functional updates any more (unless I re-subscribe, of course).

I know that 7.2.3 currently is the newest version, and I have the release notes for that version.

But when Presonus releases a new version in the future, I'd like to read the release notes first to help me to decide if I need that version or not. And I found it a bit difficult to find release notes for the newest Studio One. Here's what my problem is:

On the Studio One product page, there are release notes provided for downloading. But they are not up to date: right now, the newest release notes provided on the product page are for 7.2. They do not include 7.2.3. So apparently the Studio One product page is not a reliable source for up-to-date release notes.

However, there are release notes for 7.2.3 in MyPresonus. 7.2.3 is the version I currently have, so that's fine. But what happens when Presonus releases a new version? As I am not entitled to get that, will the information available in MyPresonus stay at 7.2.3 or will it be updated according to the newer version, so I can at least read the release notes of that newer version?

I appreciate any hints on that.

Regards, Michael

Thank you very much.

Regarding 7.2.3, the Wikipedia article links to https://studiooneforum.com/threads/studio-one-7-2-3-is-online.1538/, where Lukas posted the release notes for 7.2.3. I hope he'll do that with every newer version in the future and I hope the Wikipedia article will link to it, as the article itself provides only basic release information.

Works for me...via My Presonus account just 1 minute ago:

Open the downloaded PDF and ...

It has always worked this way for me - unless the Pro+ crowd has a different view of the world?

My Presonus works for mee too.

What doesn't work is downloading from the Studio One product page (https://www.presonus.com/products/studio-one-pro). When you scroll down on that page, you find "Support". Expanding this item shows several documents for downloading. There are release notes, too, but the newest one is for 7.2, which doesn't include 7.2.3.

The reason why I asked was that I'm not sure where to get the latest release notes from once a new version is released. The notes on the product page (see above link) are outdated and the downloads in MyPresonus might stay on 7.2.3 even if there are newer versions, because I can't have newer versions without re-subscribing. But maybe the downloads in MyPresonus are updated regardless of me being entitled to have the new version or not. Whenever a new version will get released, I'll know ;)

I never (ever) go the Presonus main site for anything related to Studio One.

If/when a new release is available - for me - it's right to MyPresonus - download Release Notes first, read em and then grab the actual installer.

Been doing this for every release since we actually have had a MyPresonus area - and have never once been presented with "outdated" release notes. It's the latest and greatest - right there.

There is really no need to go anywhere else.

I won't do that either. I would also always go to MyPresonus.

But imagine the following scenario: Presonus releases 7.3. Will that appear in MyPresonus despite I'm not entitled to have it, because I don't have a subscription? Will there also be release notes for 7.3 to help me decide whether 7.3 is worth re-subscribing? If yes, fine. If no, I have to find other sources for release notes.

Well - a lot of us are in this "new" zone now - either our Subscription (you) or our Annual Updates (Me) have finished and we are all working with a free (perpetual) license.

Since I have never been in this position before - not exactly sure what we will see via MyPresonus when a new version drops.

That said - I expect to see the new version there - with Release Notes there as usual - and probably the ability to download it as well - but perhaps NOT any ability to activate if we do not have a plan active.

I have my own personal speculation on what might happen to these "plans" - but that is not for this thread :)

On the positive - the Release Notes are always published in the Lounge when a new release is posted up there - which is the first place I go once an announcement drops.

Bottom line - don't worry. Someone here will have a handle on release notes - one way or another.

Maybe a missed something in this thread, but... what is the problem with just selecting Help -> View Release Notes in the program??

This does not help if you haven't installed the latest release yet.

The OP is asking about the latest notes from the latest release - and all before even installing it.

It always opens the full release notes for the current version cycle 7.x. Selecting this option in Studio One 7.1 will open the same PDF containing all release notes up to and including version 7.2.3.

The release notes document does not change based on the currently opened program version or the last version covered by the subscription. It's just a static link to the same release notes document.

Sure, if a new major version is released (say Studio One 8 or 9), then Studio One 7 won't show them. In this case, I'd say this forum is the best option :)

That's true - the Studio One product page is basically a marketing page and not managed by the same team who develops Studio One. For accurate information and links that always point to the latest up-to-date files I would always go the program route.
