I’d rather assume that the “News” topics have an expiration date and this is most probably part of the Bulletin Board Software used for this forum.

Hiya Lukas,
It's just a bit of trivia, or fun, nothing significant or a problem.

Over the life of the forum I have noticed whether by chance or just the way things have gone, a couple or three weeks after the News and Announcements (top right panel) disappears an update gets posted.

It's just a bit of a coincidence and a bit of speculation. @Crossinger sorted it out, I'm just easily excited.

Ah! Yeah, I don't want to kill the excitement either, so let me just say that something is indeed being prepared for release.

But there's always something being prepared...

But seriously: Whenever there's something new to announce, we put up the widget. Sometimes we take it down again after a week or two, sometimes we set a timer, and sometimes we simply forget about it. Sorry for ruining the magic a little
