I never really have liked the piano roll, seems too far away from music. Yes, it's useful but for me the Score is where it's at. Just playing around today. Used Instacomposer for a couple minutes piece. Put it in both TOC4 and Opus, Played it, and brought out the individual instruments, and then started playing (changing/mixing) the score in the Score page. IF you learned on a piano before all this magic stuff came our way (for players and composers), you learned that the score is where the magic happens. Little changes in the notation, from one beat to the next, doubling, mixing, and all sorts of other stuff. When I play and watch a score, I can visualize the various players in the various sections, how they move and feel from seeing the score. And for that is the magic in FSO, the score page is almost a living thing when its playing. This alone (and it's so much eaisier than a full scoring program). Thank some music, any music, open the score page and image how an orchestra comes alive, each section where the players express emotion as much in their body language as in the effort to play.
Thanks Fender for keeping the compose part of Studio still growing. For me this is where the magic lives.
