What's up with the snooping around?

I noticed a... let's call it "a bug," where, even though pretty much all other preferences seem to be kept perfectly fine and untouched after an update, the one that somehow gets reset persistently is the Usage Data setting. I can't help it, but this does not sit quite right with me. Shouldn't there be at least a notification that it was previously set to the wrong setting and that the update fixed this user mistake? Feels kinda shady to me that this setting is being changed without consent... how about you guys? Even Native Instruments does not change this setting back with updates.

Disclaimer:
No, I have nothing to hide, and no, I don't give a flying F if Fender knows what I'm doing on my computer. However, I am firmly committed to reserving every last CPU cycle for my own work, rather than letting companies run background data-mining shenanigans. Likewise, I demand complete authority over my internet bandwidth.
It's kind of like subscriptions—one or two might not hurt too much, but a subscription for everything adds up quick.

What is this setting?

And what exactly is being changed?

It changes from No to Yes

I think it's more common with updates, but I would not rule out changes in License Periods.. I don't check too often, but I did after renewing my update plan in the fender account and it was set back to yes then. Don't know when exactly that happened, but after changing it back to No and installing the actual software update, it was set to Yes once again.

I disabled usage tracking (and likely intentionally reverted by Fender) because I think they'll be misinterpreted to my disadvantage. I don't use features/settings not because I don't like them but because they're poorly/clunky implemented.

For instance, I avoid using the action items in the note editor because they're modal and without preview. The macro "chord up/down" looses the selected notes so inversions can't be repeated quickly. The bright theme looks milky and less contrasty than the dark theme. The note fx offer little and cause audio/note dropouts. (And so on.)
