Solved Waves Sync VX

Is anyone here using Waves Sync VX? I bought it yesterday but I have an issue when scanning the tracks the progress bar hangs and will go no further. I'm trying to sort it out with Waves but so far I've had no luck. They want to remotely connect to my computer but that's not going to happen. If anyone has Sync VX and had this problem and sorted out the issue, would you please let me know how you fixed the issue? It will be greatly appreciated.

I use Sync VX, but can't help because it's working here. What I can say is that I've used Remote Desktop with PC Audio Labs and Waves (once for each) when I had a problem I couldn't solve. I didn't see any money missing from my bank account afterward :)

In both instances, they were LIGHTNING fast. They knew exactly where to look, tweaked a couple parameters, and got out. They're not interested in rummaging around your computer.

If you're totally against connecting with Remote Desktop, then go into Waves Central and try a repair install. Can't hurt...could help.

Thanks Craig. That's reassuring. I'll set up the meet with Waves. I tried the repair tool and the clean up tool and reinstall but no luck. Oh, I just realized you're the Craig Anderton that wrote a couple of ebook I own. Referenced many times. Good stuff.

I've had no problems when Waves Support have remoted in to my computer plus you can see what they're doing and ask questions while they're connected.

Thanks Trucky. You and Craig have assured me enough that I'm going to give it a shot.

Got in touch with Waves and they did the remote assistance thing but were unable to correct the issue. It appears it has something to do with the Waves Local Server. I sent them the log files and they are going to try and figure it out with those.

I realize I posted this some time ago but I want to let those that are interested know that Waves was able to resolve the issue I was having yesterday. It took several remote session but Waves did get it worked out.

The solution was to copy a .dll file in one folder and paste it into another folder. Here is the exact process.

  • On your computer, go to the following folder:
    • C:\ProgramData\Waves Audio\Modules\AdditionalDLLs_x64\
  • Locate the file named:
    • svml_dispmd.dll
  • Copy this file (right-click > Copy).
  • Now, go to the following directory:
    • C:\ProgramData\Waves Audio\WavesPluginServer\WavesPluginServerV16.1.bundle\Contents\Win64\
  • Paste the copied file into this folder (right-click > Paste)
  • Restart computer.
