Version 2.2 of my Studio One eBook Now Available as a Free Update

If you have a previous version, go grab the free update. It has over 70 new or heavily updated tips, as well as more presets and files. Please go to the book/blog support forum on this site if you have any questions or suggestions.

I'm mentioning it here in the Lounge because the landing page copy hasn't been updated yet, so the cover and description on the Sweetwater site is left over from v2.1. But the PDF and files have been updated, so the current download is the latest version, no matter what the landing page says. I thought participants in the Studio One forum might want to be in on the secret :)

Many thanks for all your efforts, Craig! Highly appreciated! I hope I'll find the time in the next couple of days to have a look into the updates. :)

For those who want to download the update: The easiest way is probably to grab the invoice (PDF) of your original purchase. The provided link in the invoice is still valid to download the updated version.

An alert forum member messaged me that the download currently includes a folder with various ancillary and marketing materials, like the web landing page, cover, main points for the sales engineers, etc. Thankfully, there's nothing embarrassing in there :) but the download package should have only:

  • The Huge Book of Studio One Tips and Tricks 2.2.pdf
  • Free Files folder
  • Audio Examples folder

So I guess anyone who downloads it before Sweetwater fixes the problem will have a rare collector's special edition with a bunch of material they don't need :ROFLMAO:

Just downloaded and taking a "quick browse" (likely hours ). So nice Craig. Thanks for all the hard work. Looks amazing. And the Sweetwater info is still in the pkg as of 5:30 AM Central time.

Craig

Finally after months and months - just bought my copy.

Congrats on the v2.2 release. Man - there is a LOT here.

And off we go....!

I hope y'all enjoy the tips! I'd like to remind everyone that I am always interested in any suggestions for future updates, or if you discover any issues -- typos, broken links, errors, whatever. You can post in the support form here, or use the email address in the book to contact me directly. Onward to version 2.3 :)

I can't seem to locate the new edition 2.2 I have a PDF 2.1 version on computer. I see Sweetwater has the 2.2 but I did not get my huge Book from Sweetwater. I see version 2.1 is in My Presonus account. Should 2.2 be in My Presonus account since 2.1 is there?
No biggie if I need to buy 2.2 or maybe the landing page as not been updated as was the case with Sweetwater? 🖖

Any chance this is out in a physical format?

No, unfortunately it would be economically impossible to do that. Full color, 900+ page books in small runs would end up being $80 - $100 for printing and shipping costs alone. It would also put an end to free updates because then you have to deal with issues like the problem of unsold copies. Anyone who bought the original book paid $20 and has had six free updates, which is a much better deal.

However, I realize some people want a physical book, so the file is a PDF that Fed Ex Office can print for you. Choose the cheapest paper and cover you can...just sayin.' It would probably be around $100 for a book printed in color. Frankly, for that price you could buy a Android tablet, and dedicate it just to reading the book and future updates. That might make more sense for you...hope this helps.

I see version 2.1 is in My Presonus account. Should 2.2 be in My Presonus account since 2.1 is there?

Frankly, I don't know what's up with PreSonus. One day they decided to stop carrying any third-party products (even a book showing people how great Studio One is :ROFLMAO:). I wrote to the guy who runs the PreSonus store when 2.1 came out, and even though they weren't selling or supporting the book, he got permission to patch together something unofficial for people who had bought the book from PreSonus. I wrote him a week ago and sent the files for v2.2 so he could update customers, but I haven't heard back. He may not be there anymore. So, as of now I don't have a definitive answer as to what you can do. It might make sense to buy a copy from Sweetwater so you can continue to get free updates, regardless of what happens with the PreSonus shop. Or, wait and see if I get a reply.

Meanwhile, here's a friendly reminder that there's a sticky support thread for the book and my blog posts in the Tutorials, Tips and Tricks forum. Please post any support questions there. The only reason I mentioned the book here is so people would know they could grab the free update.

Just to follow up - I still have not heard back from the PreSonus store, so I suspect free updates for books bought through PreSonus will not be honored going forward.
