Trim Automation is Great. But...

I wish track automation was done the same way as for tempo automation, where you can specify minimum and maximum values for the interface. Many of my automation moves are 1 dB or less, and better resolution would be soooo welcome.

Absolutely needed. I often write automation to hardware and need to send 1, then 2, then 1, then 3. in short order. It gets so frustrating and I second this call.

Absolutely, Craig. When changes are subtle, as are mine as well, it would be so much more visible and vertically space saving, to have min-max settings. Really needed.

Also needed when mapping control parameter automation from synths, instruments, etc. In the edit window.

"Small moves, Ellie" from the movie Contact (Carl Sagan).

While we're at it, can "OFF" somehow be added to the scale, to avoid slicing? The current minimum of -24dB is low but for some signals not low enough to silence the track sufficiently in the mix.

While I find the need to slice less troublesome than the problem Craig points to, yes, absolutely, this would be wonderful too. Like a range "OFF" overlay on the automation curve?

Yes, the Aye's have it. Automation min-max set range on Automation lanes, Automation of MIDI, and set-to off positioning where -24dB levels apply. That makes too much sense.
Love to see it happen.

On a side note (if I may): Wouldn't it be great if there were a third wrench area that facilitated these type of tool shed adjustments for such useful utility settings? Sort of a global one stop shop location. With that, of course add the limit adjustments right on top of where they apply as well. When does the mechanic (user) get some notoriety/love? When we have links for AI outside sources? Pffff
Need AI involved? Have AI auto set the limits if and when possible and that also be selectable.
Just an attempt to stress on present improvement.

Did somebody submit an official FR for this wonderful idea? ;)
