Transients and drum samples

I am trying to add a snare sample to a recorded snare track. I can detect transients in the recorded track . When I try to drag the transients to the new audio track I have added the whole wave tries to move not just the transients. Also is the a way to copy a snare sample and paste multiple copies snapped to the transients?

You can drag the bend markers to an instrument channel then trigger your replacement snare from something like Impact.
