Track Presets unable to move from folder to folder question

HI, Kinda new S1 user since v6 here. First off I love the work flow of this DAW above Logic and Protools - I've not tried others.

I've seen Lukas Ruschitzka's videos - a lot of them. Thank you Lukas!

in SP8 It seems like:
Moving Track Presets from folder to folder does not work now in SP8?

Has this Track Preset function changed? What am I doing incorrectly?
Dragging in the DAW a preset to a folder or another location inside Track Presets directory does not work.

MacOs Sequoia Studio One 7.x and testing Fender Studio Pro 8.x for simple template adjustments.
2024 MM M4 Pro 64gb Ram; 2020 MacRack Pro 178gb Ram (VEP8 Server (Sequoia); 2012 Mac Pro 128GB ram VEP8 Server (Sonoma via OpenCore)
I pack tracks and store them as instrument sets ie; VSL Studio Woods in one instrument set and drag-n-drop in as needed for each Que
I love the way S1-FSP works allowing me to use all midi Ports and Channels in VEP8 and Packed Track Presets way better than others.

Hey,

glad to hear you liked the videos!

Could you describe what exactly doesn't work? Do you get an error message? Or a "not allowed" cursor when you try to drop a Track Preset on another folder? Or do you drag and drop but the Track Preset does not move to the new folder?

Thanks man. Ok experimenting more there are two tabs in the side panel.
1. Instruments
and
2. Files

So I was and always working in FILES because I'm used thinking it's a match to the Finder.
If I choose the Instruments tab and then open the TRACK PRESETS and see the prebuilt and my personal Track Presets dragging from one place to another in there works.
If I go to the FILE tab and open Presets/ User Presets/ Track Presets - try dragging from file to file/directory in there and nothing works.

So, your video actually made me aware of the first Tab INSTRUMENTS and I had no idea that this presets were in there.
So it works in one spot but not the other.

Hey, while I'm here one other situation with Track Presets.
I make 16-20 tracks up for a set of instruments - say like Woodwinds. Then I pack them in a folder. Then I choose that folder and save a preset. They work. Nice. But one thing it never saves my first 1 bar midi region containing initial Mod CC values... I thought it would save that info like Logic - not that I want to work in Logic - SP8 works better in Ports and Channels.

Why does it not save the MIDI region information?

Thanks man,

Anytime you come to Nashville stay at our house.

Instruments and Effects. Files works differently - as you said, it’s file management, comparable to Finder or Explorer.

Studio One/Pro presets should always be managed within the program itself, which in this case means in the Instruments or Effects tab. Manipulating presets on the file system level is possible, but it can lead to problems.

After moving presets outside the program, you should always run "Re-Index Presets" (in the Home tab of the Browser) to reload Studio Pro’s internal preset database.

Because Track Presets only save track settings but not events on tracks. This would be a different feature (which is not yet existing in Studio Pro). If you need events with CC initial values, then you would need to use templates with hidden/disabled tracks.
