This won't stop working after 132 days I assume?

I've just found out about Fender Studio and immediately installed it.

I'll just get no updates...

Thanks...

Clarification - on day 133 you will be "officially" on a perpetual license - which DOES actually allow you to get you one type of specific update.

Example: If - 131 days from now - if you were still on v8.0.0 - and an v8.0.1 or v8.0.7 suddenly appears - you would in fact - get these updates.

An increment in the third digit of any version number indicates a Maintenance (bug fix) release.

But if 131 days from now you were on v8.0.0 and the very next day v8.1.0 appeared - you would not get that update.

An increment in the second digit of any version number indicates a Feature release.

And of course - any increment in the first digit of any version number indicates a Major (NEW) release - like v8.00 changing from v7.x.x.

To get this release off an active perpetual license would require a paid upgrade.

Sorry to be pedantic- and we all know what you mean - but it’s Fender Studio Pro you have installed. Fender Studio is a very different app.

Well I'm afraid that's Fenders issue that they gave out very similar names. I feel sorry for their support employees who will have to bare the brunt of peoples miscommunication.

And the reason why I took a week or so to realise a new version of "Studio One", sorry "Studio Pro", had dropped is because I assumed it was that other app which I hardly have any interest in, so I ignored the top thread. It was only when it was mentioned in another thread that I twigged what was going on.

Nothing like baking in confusion right at the beginning. IMHO should have kept the "One" bit but what do I know.

People complained from the release of v2 that having a number as part of the name followed by a number depicting the version was confusing. And using ‘Pro’ to distinguish a more sophisticated but related product is an old, old marketing move, so frankly I can’t really get too worked up about that as a policy. But it does mean that we’ll need to be careful to be specific about which product we’re referencing. Obviously, the vast majority of topics here will be about the Pro version, but not all - which kind of takes us back to the days of ‘Prime’ and ‘Artist’.
