Let me describe the ecosystem I am forced to deal with right now due to this company. A couple years ago, I bought Studio One 4 for $400 dollars. This version of the program is no longer compatible with current MacOS. First issue, no lifetime license like Fl Studio and ImageLine gives.
Then they make it to where you cannot open later version of Studio One projects with older version. No option to revert it to previous versions, no choice to manage anything. They just tell you no and force you to upgrade.
I cannot even open files to edit or bounce them out without first:
1. Paying entirely for the current Studio One version
2. Paying for the monthly subscription to literally bounce files out of a program I have already paid $400 dollars for
Just try activating a Demo version of any Studio One version and see how difficult they make it to just find the necessary links and info.

Fl Studio and ImageLine is infinitely better with both Customer Service and Functionality. They give both lifetime updates and let any version of project files to be opened with any version of Fl Studio for these exact reasons. I am frustrated I ever gave this company a chance. I will never give this company another dollar or minute of my time.

Asking V4 of Studio One to be compatible with a modern Mac is like asking your electric car to be able to fill up with diesel. Mac is now an entirely different kind of computer with a completely different architecture. BTW PC's have more or less stayed the same. In fact your Mac WAS a PC but not anymore.

So you are asking later project version to be able to be opened from an earlier version of Studio One? Well that could be possible. All that is required is for the Fender (Presonus) developers to acquire a time machine into the future to see what file format they are using, so they can incorporate it in their earlier version.

So did you forget to back up your data, because if you decided to save projects in a later file format and then revert to a previous version, you could have restored from your backups.

Here is the thing.

Nobody forced you to upgrade your Mac.
When you upgraded your Mac, which runs on an entirely different architecture, that forced you to upgrade your software.
Nobody is forcing you to upgrade your software or hardware.
Nobody is forcing you to regularly backup your data, nor is it anybody elses jobs to, but if you did you maybe would be in a better position.
And nobody is forcing you to use Studio One.

Hopefully you will learn from the experience. Always back up, don't jump into things, and plan ahead.
Good luck with Fruity Loops.
