The Tron: Ares Soundtrack Is Spectacular

If you're into the audio part of movies, the Tron: Areas soundtrack/score was essentially another lead actor. Every second of visuals had a sonic counterpoint or underscore, whether it was a sound effect, a melodic motif, or something that crossed over between the two. I've never heard audio integrated into a movie on such a deep, important, proficient, and commanding level. The sountrack was done by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross (credited to Nine Inch Nails).

This is a master class on integrating audio with visuals. The film has been a commercial flop, so it will probably be leaving theaters soon. If you're interested, you better catch it before it goes away. I do think that eventually, the film will be recognized as groundbreaking.

The score was excellent man.

Not a bad movie either, the somewhat blundering/hamfisted AI apologist subtext notwithstanding (spoken, in true Disney fashion, by people who apparently have no actual experience with the technology).

I can forgive that, because the things it does do, it does quite well.

Worth a watch, and a listen.

Interesting take. The second time I saw it, I caught more subtleties that made me think much of it was more like a cautionary tale... like that brief moment that underscored how powerful human empathy was compared to a machine's programming. In retrospect, that was the plot's pivot point.

Also, how the machines saw the process of tracking people down made me want to turn off location services on all my devices :ROFLMAO:

Lol, we're so embedded with the tracking-bloat it's unreal at this point.

'WANTS TO KNOW YOUR LOCATION' has become my new 🖕🖕 trigger...

I kinda wanna 'De-Google' my life like Pewdiepie did a few months ago, although moving to Japan is currently beyond my prospects

Ditching Gmail felt good at least, although the migration is of course a huge PITA for legacy accounts.
