Studio Pro Midi Controller Functionality

I added this to an already existing feature request but I would love to hear Lukas’ thoughts on it and anyone else who may have had similar issues and if there are any workarounds.

I recently purchased a SoundRogue MIDI9 and was looking to implement it into my workflow in a pretty specific way. I’m looking for the ability to map some knobs as a “focus/selected” tracks. If that’s not an option then could it be possible to add the ability to write scripts that map physical MIDI controller inputs to the currently selected track’s volume, pan, and send levels dynamically — so that the mapped controls follow whichever track is selected in the mixer. Control Link’s Global mapping locks controls to specific tracks and cannot do this. As far as I know the MIDI Remote API in Studio One had a mTrackSelection.mMixerChannel object that provided exactly this functionality.

Cubase seems to be the king of this territory with their MIDI Remote setup but there are still some cool things you can do in Studio Pro that if one could add something like Cubase’s setup to what Studio Pro already offers it would be incredible.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or suggestions.
