Solved Studio One Pro 7 Default Keyboard Shortcut Assignments

Hey folks,

Ran a search through the forums and didn't see this posted, but let me know if I overlooked it. Is there a list of which keyboard shortcuts S1 assigns by default? From what I can tell, we can only search by function rather than shortcut (i.e. I can search in S1 for whether "Select All" is an assignable function, but I can't search for whether "ctrl+A" is an available shortcut). When making macros, S1 does throw a flag if you try to assign a shortcut that is already in use, but it's a tad tedious to have to guess-and-check through a bunch of keystrokes before finding an open one.

Stay groovy,
Mike

Hi Mike,

When making macros, S1 does throw a flag if you try to assign a shortcut that is already in use, but it's a tad tedious to have to guess-and-check through a bunch of keystrokes before finding an open one.
but isn't this still much easier than searching through a list for a shortcut that isn't even there?

Not sure why trying out different shortcuts to find a free one would be a problem. That's how I've always done it - unless I'm using a Stream Deck or another controller to run macros.

Sure, you could export the key mapping as an XML file and use a tool (or ChatGPT) to turn it into a list.
But even easier: just go to Help → Keyboard Shortcuts. This creates an HTML file listing all commands - including their assigned shortcuts.

Does this show customized shortcuts?

The list idea is double-edged. It would be handy except there are so many, and they are arranged in command order rather than key order. Key order is the only way a list would work for me.

Easy; export as HTML, convert to Textfile.csv, import to spreadsheet & sort.

Yes, that's the idea. The HTML file is generated based on the customized key mapping, depending on the operating system and the user's configuration.

It's not ideal that it also lists commands without any assigned shortcuts - something I hope will be improved in one of the upcoming updates.

UPDATED PDF (7/13/2025)!!!

Are you frustrated with trying to find a key or combination of keys that hasn't already been assigned?
Here's a PDF I created that includes all the default Studio One Pro 7 keyboard shortcut assignments.
It's organized by keyboard groups so it's easier to determine which keys are still available for assignment.

I grouped each of the keyboard types (Single, Ctrl, Alt, Shift and combinations) and also the overall layout to fit on 3 pages.
Tip: You can use Ctrl-F in the PDF to easily find a key, key combination or command.
This will help identify if a key or combination of keys is not available because it's already been assigned.

Please note that commands listed are for PC.
Ctrl on PC = Command on Mac
Alt on PC = Option on Mac
