Studio One 8.1 – How to Copy Event FX Settings Between Audio Events Without Saving a Preset

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a way to copy an existing Event FX chain directly from one audio event to another without having to save it as a preset first.

Here’s a practical example:

While editing a vocal recording, I’ve isolated individual sibilants (S sounds) into separate audio events and applied a dynamic EQ to one of them. I’d now like to copy those exact EQ settings to the other sibilant events.

Ideally, I’m looking for a simple copy-and-paste function, keyboard shortcut, or drag-and-drop method that transfers only the Event FX chain, including all its settings, without affecting the audio itself.

I’d prefer to avoid saving and reloading presets, as these settings are only needed temporarily within the current project.

I’m aware that moving all the sibilants to a separate track and using a regular insert effect would be an alternative. However, I’d prefer to keep everything on the original track for better organization and a clearer overview of the arrangement.

Does anyone know if there’s a way to achieve this in Studio One 8.1?

Thanks in advance!

I think I understand the question, but I also know the sinking feeling when realising, after a few miles, that I took a wrong path. You may be on such a path. I don't know a quick way to duplicate event FX.

For me chopping up a track is a last resort because it multiplies work, on ever smaller pieces of the end result. In your situation a better way is to insert the EQ on the original track and then automate its bypass. You already did the groundwork by identifying where you want it so you can use that as a template to create the automation lane. Then return the track to its unbroken state by deleting all the pieces but one, expanding that last bit back to the full length of the recording. And you can simply deactivate the EQ insert to return the track's playback to its original state :)
