Studio One 6 Pro

I am looking to purchase a license transfer for Studio One 6 so I can upgrade my version 4. Presonus only makes this older version available thru subscription and at my age I am unwilling to put my credit card on file. Also once I quit the subscription my upgraded 6 will stop working and I suspect I will lose v4.

Note that a license transfer requires the previous owner to remove v6 from his/her own account, including previous versions that were used to obtain v6 as an upgrade if that was the case. And if the v6 license was used to upgrade to v7 then the previous owner will lose that upgrade too for not owning an older 'full' version that entitled to a (reduced price) upgrade. Either that or losing the option to upgrade beyond v7, can't remember.

So basically you are looking for a user who owns Studio One v6, as a full purchase or as an upgrade with history, and wants to abandon Studio One. That may be harder than you think.

So let me understand this - you decide to do absolutely nothing since 2021. No computer upgrades. No OS upgrades. No Studio One upgrades. No supporting anyone at all from Apple to Presonus - and suddenly you are upset?

Upset that Presonus is not outfitting you (for free no less) with ALL the older version updates that we (existing paying customers) chose to support Presonus development with by purchasing over the last 4 years?

Forgive me - but you have had over 4 years to make choices. There is nothing you should be upset about except that fact that you chose technology (Mac OS Catalina/Firewire etc) that is now end of life and you are scrambling in a corner by poor planning.

This could have been easily solved if you would have just supported Presonus by upgrading sometime in the last 4 years - you would have full access to these older versions.

Yes , my musical carrer was on hold why I built dorms for the University of Arizona and raised my kids… now retired on fixed income and find I invested in the wrong company. Avid responded and has a Pro version of Pro Tools that I can get. I wanted to finish my songs some 40 years old recorded on 8 track tape at the Ronstadt family studio… I am not asking for anything free, the program is there on the sever but only available for down load and use on a month to month subscription.
That’s OK it is their decision.

Respectfully - you are actually asking for something for free - access to a full copy of version 6 of Studio One.

And once again - pretty certain that this product (v6) is not part of a Pro+ subscription here in Fall 2025.

A new Pro+ sub started today - gets you Studio One v7.

Well, you could argue they owe us 3 to 4 significant updates across the year of our "not subscription", because that was their sales pitch when they announced the new licensing. Not sure that releasing the new instruments really counts - they are clearly just a reskin of Lead Architect with new rompler sounds.

But my main point is that there is no need to be nasty to the OP. If he upsets you just ignore the thread. There is enough hate in the world without getting upset about stuff like this.

Not trying to be nasty in any way. If it comes off that way to you - I can't control that. The OP seems to be fine with it.

Many have tried to explain and solution how the OP can get a copy of v6.

He doesn't really seem open to any of them - so case closed I guess.

I would love to see the response - but I think that would violate several forum rules - so please do not post anything from Presonus Support here.

If that is what they said (as hard as it is for me to believe) then it is what it is.

Presonus offered a workable solution and you do not want to accept the parameters to take it on. That is your call.

Kinda thought you would want to solve this but I guess not.
