Strange behaviour with Cherry Audio SEM VST

And yes, I have raised this with CA - just thought someone among all you splendid people might have a answer ;)

The strange behaviour with the CA SEM VST is as follows:

I have a preset with both OSC frequencies set to zero (or very close to). I have place in a track where I have an A4 note, when that plays OSC1 Frequency (only) goes instantly to max and then to min, giving a nasty spike in the sound. Happens for every single instance of A4.

If I move that note to any other value (A4#, G4#, an octiave up or down - ie. any note other than A4), then this behaviour does not happen. If I move the A4 to a completely different location on the track, same problem happens. Change the note as above in that new location, problem goes away - and comes back if I change back to A4.

I have checked and there is no automation on this note. To prove no automation, I created a completely new song, inserted a single track with SEM and the same preset, A4 still has the problem, any other note does not.

There is nothing in the preset that could be set to do that to OSC1 Frequency for only A4.

I've tried different VST and doing above checks, and A4 does not appear to have this problem. Computer reboots and DAW restarts do not change this behaviour.

I thought I noticed similar behaviour when using EightVoice, but I was not able to definitively prove it one way or another - so, just FWIW.

Evidently, SEM does not like A4 and/or me. My brane hurtz 🤯 😭
